Mattress bed are a bit too hard No screen on the door leading to balcony, so for the night we had to close the door

Dampness in the room's ceiling, this is completely innaceptable Non-existent room sound insulation, you will count the waves or the people passing the corridor instead of slipping For a 4 star hotel the room and the bed were small (like in a prison cell) no facilities like freezer, coffee/tea machine or hair dryer available Room's furniture should be upgraded as it looks quite old

I didn't have time to try the swimming pool and it closed too early. I didn't know where to get to the pool. The hotel had poor signage and it was strangely designed. The building is in need of renovation, the laminates are swelling and the seams in the bathrooms are especially in poor condition. Moisture damage is coming when water leaks into them if it hasn't already. Poor soundproofing, woke up to noise at night. I expected better quality for that price. The room reservation said the view was towards the bay, but it was actually towards the mountains. That was also nice so it didn't bother me that much. There should be a kettle in the hotel room.

The staff was friendly. Nice flowers and fresh water in the lobby. Location was amazing, near by restaurants, shops and the beach. Free parking was exellent. Breakfast was good except the coffee. Nice view and big windows.

The views from the hotel are breathtaking.. The hotel is a little outdated in areas. We had a standard double with bay views. The bath had mould in areas in the silicone. The bed was quite firm & the linen is a sheet, blanket & top cover so if your sleep movers like us you can lose them & get wrapped up easily We went all inclusive. i’m glad we did as the drinks & food in the hotel are expensive.. The food is very basic & not a lot of choice (soup, 6 hot dishes & salads for lunch & dinner) which i understand putting out small selections. as some lunch times there was only 6-10 people eating. , we found something to eat each time but if you’re a picky eater you may struggle. breakfast was ok & a fair selection. The inside bar is very small, for us it wasn’t a problem & got served fast each time . going out of season it was very quiet, but i could imagine it could be carnage at the height of the season. 95% of the staff were very friendly but there was a couple that clearly hate their jobs & were quite off & unfriendly. We used “Bolt app” to get about which was super cheap. €2.15 to santa cruise. €4.80 to airport. €21 to Funchal there is a lot of inside & outside seating so you can enjoy the stunning views. The outside pool is cute (sadly the weather was very changeable so never got to use it) One evening my husband still had a full glass of wine & was stopped leaving the restaurant with it. which was a waste as he left it on the side, walked up 5 steps & went to the bar & got another. I told the waiter we would return the glass but he was having none of it. Other times it wasn’t a problem. Great little sandy beach a few minutes walk.

Overall the stay was great. only concern was the water pressure in the shower was actually almost too hard. Standing close to the faucet hurt and it sprayed so forcefully that quite a bit of water leaked out past the curtain onto the surrounding floor. Additionally, the drying rack is within the shower which made entering from that side very difficult. Very small things overall though for such a great spot.

Check in was straightforward and smooth. It is evident they have completed some updates/reservations to the inside of the building that really make it beautiful and organized. Do not let the look of the building from the outside concern you. The setup of the property is unique and there are many features onsite, including an outdoor pool, restaurant, piano lounge, games area, ect. Our room was a great size and had a beautiful view of the beach where we watched surfers for hours. The bed linens were very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The best part of the room was the large window, which could me swung open completely for airflow and an unobstructed view of the beach. The breakfast in the morning included in our stay was far more than we expected for the cost of the room. The re was a large buffet including yogurt, fruit, toast, pastries, eggs, beans, sausage, juice, and hot drinks. The buffet area also overlooked the sunrise and the beach.

The coffee machine is too small and old. I left orange juice for a night on the table, from the morning it was full with ants. Balconies are good, but only on the first 3 floors. No balcony higher. The walls are a bit thin, I heard how next door goes to the toilet.

-Parking can be tricky around the hotel as they only have a really limited amount of spaces on their premises.

-Generous buffet breakfast. -Nice views from most rooms. -Less than 10 minutes away from the airport. -Relatively close to multiple beaches in the center of Machico.

Pillows weren’t great. The parking fills up quickly, but they have close by parking, too.

The views were great. Breakfast was outstanding. The location was great!
