The hotel was situated in the heart of Santa Marina Salina- a short walk from the port. It was steps from the Main Street with boutiques and shops, and overlooked the sea. The rooftop terrace was amazing for breakfast and sunset cocktails. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Giuseppe and his wife were charming hosts who mad us feel most welcome. The staff were lovely. They gave us maps and suggestions on what to do, and made reservations for us at local restaurants for dinner. A big Thankyou!

The view is amazing, location is close to everything and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. Eleonora, the manager, arranged a pick-up for us from the port. She also booked us a day tour to Panarea and Stromboli. On our departure date, she offered to open breakfast early for us or even pack up a to go box for us which was incredibly thoughtful. Loved everything ❤️

This hotel did not disappoint from the time we arrived, until it's sad departure. Ben, who spoke many different languages, greeted us and started us off with an espresso while taking us up to this amazing hilltop view overlooking the ocean and the wonderful city of Lipari. His introduction of the hotel was well planned, noting the countless ammendities and services offered by the hotel. If you need to rent a scooter, car, boat excursion, or make dinner reservations(with free shuttle), they do it all right at the resort. Ben went the extra mile to surprise my wife with a large bouquet of Lillies for the room to help celebrate our wedding anniversary. Breakfast was served on a terrace overlooking the city with amazing food and staff to attend to your needs. If you just want to relax, there is an infinity pool at the top of the resort with breathtaking views and outstanding food and drink service. The walk into town is about 10 minutes or a taxi can quickly be arranged by the hotel if needed . The port is close and allows for spontaneous ferries for island hopping, but we found Lipari to be our favorite. We closed our trip at the restaurant Al Panorama, overlooking the island of Vulcano at sunset. The view from here can not be beaten, and the hotel provided a free shuttle here as well. All of the staff at the resort were very helpful and courteous, making lasting memories for 2 Americans on their first trip to Europe. Dont miss out on this hidden gem.

The property is beautifully situated on the ocean and is altogether charming with flowering trees, lovely balconies and views of the sea. There is a large pool and a small outdoor gym on the staff are extremely kind and helpful and accommodating. We stayed two nights and would easily have stayed longer. We thought it was one of the loveliest hotels and locations we had ever seen. We would recommend renting a scooter, however, to explore the island to travel to and from the ferry.

Everything! All the staff were very nice and friendly. The room was super clean and comfortable. We got very lucky that they upgraded us to the suite with fabulous view! We were so happy! Everything was perfect. We also tried the sushi restaurant and it was delicious and the service was great too. The shuttle service to the port was much appreciated since it was so hot outside. Wish we stayed longer. It was an AMAZIN stay!

The onsite crew was extremely polite and helpful. The pool area was stunningly beautiful and the small coffee shop offered a great selection for breakfast and lunch. The facility offered a shuttle service to downtown that was very convenient. The apartment was very clean and spacious, with a beautiful terrace. Just what we needed it! I’ll definitely go back to this property.

Amazing! We had a view to the sea and it was spectacular. Snorkeling is easy to do here. Just rent snorkel, goggles and fins at the dive shop for 5 euro each. We saw an octopus and many other fish. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. The decor is very retro and older aesthetic, but I liked it. Front desk is a helpful guide for booking excursions and answering questions.

Stromboli is one of a kind to check out an active volcano.

Stromboli is one of a kind to check out an active volcano. It also has surprisingly nice beaches. The island is lacking some tourist infrastructure. There is no place to rent snorkel equipment, for example. Food is a little pricier than mainland but nothing too outrageous.

The city and island are treasures.

The city and island are treasures. We visited all recommended sites on the island, as well as the islands of Salina and Vulcano. Lipari is an excellent place as a base to visit all of the Eolian Islands. Bad weather prevented us from seeing the other four islands, so we wish we could have stayed a few more days. We will definitely return.

We found the nicest hotel; Sables Noir; they had a spa and a private beach. We hired Bicycles from the Hotel (better than the hire companies), by the hour or half day or whole day and the Hotel staff were all, from top to bottom, an amazing, cohesive and energetic team ; (even though it was end of season.) Volcano is beautiful but very small so shorter stays and/ or home cooking is recommended as the choice of GOOD restaurants is limited. We took a private boat to Lipari for the evening, which was fabulous and something different.

Mmmmm, absolutely stunning little island, too crowded in august, some visitors disrespectful of island throwing rubbish where ever for example, and of staff in hotel and Restos, a lot of entitled people seem to visit here. Visited specifically to visit Stromboli, long and complicated travel and expensive hotel but happy to pay as Stromboli was to be the highlight. Booked boat trip on last night and was let down by boat company with no apology or attempt to fix and no time to rearrange. Avoid NOLEGGIO GOMMONI la Stefano if you want a professional reliable boat service. Horrible customer service

There is not a lot to do on the island and you need transport ie rent a scooter or a car to get around. The best beach is Rinella which has a beach with black pebbles/sand and a lovely little cafe. 2 days is enough really. 1 day to explore and drive around and 1 beach day . There are other things like visiting a Caper farm & wine tasting if you have a 3rd day. It is a very unspoilt place although we were there at the end of the season so might be different during the peak times.

Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to choose from. There was one clothes shop, one grocery shop and one tabbachi. If you don’t have a car, ferry, taxi or Citi bus is the only way to get about - or hiking of course. The bus I think is cheapest but we didn’t use it because we were mostly island hopping. 10 minute ride on ferry to Santa Marina Salina seemed expensive for the trip but I think it gets more expensive at certain popular times of the day. This is a quieter, more remote place to do the hopping (with the extra 10 min journey always tagged on the end from Santa Marina) so if you want a little bit more buzz choose one of the other islands or Santa Marina. Personally, we liked the vibe on Vulcano and loved Stromboli. (Stromboli is probably not the best base for island hopping though as it is the furthest one away). Lipari is big and bustling and didn’t feel like island-life but if you like that sort of thing, it’s a great base. On the whole we enjoyed our choice of base at Rinella. It was a good ‘getaway from it all’ place, where we were forced to do extremely little- when not venturing.

Lipari is really a great destination.

Lipari is really a great destination. The town is cool and is a great jumping off point to visit the other islands. For sure to visit Panaera an especially Stromboli by night. Bring you bathing suit. Lots of cool beaches even though many are rock. Strongly recommend going after the main tourist season. People are nice and the food and drink spectacular. Visit the castle for incredible Mediteranian history. The only downside is getting there and coming back. It's not easy and boats, buses and planes don't always run on time.
