The Location and Facilities were amazing. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We had the upstairs apartment that has two bedrooms, and it had the best views of Bacalar. We had our own huge balcony with a table that sits six with the best view. The restaurant just opened a couple of months ago; the food was delicious. The Shrimp Tacos are a must. Chef Cristian did an amazing job with the dishes. They have a nice double deck to enjoy your time at the lake. We will definitely come back.

Great stay, close to the beach and city center, yet silent and peaceful. It was nicely decores (minimal), extremely clean, building is new and pool was amazing. Gina was a great host, she made the stay even better, with her tips about the island and fun conversation. We ended up staying extra days as we enjoyed it so much, would definitely come back!

A beautiful slice of heaven, The pool is a very nice way to cool down after a day of exploring, Can walk to the bioluminescence lagoon, Out of the main town so you avoid the noise, it is about a 15min into town but you have a beautiful beach to walk along to get to town, no complaints about that. Staff were so lovely. We’ll come back here next time!!

This was a wonderful experience for our multigenerational family. I traveled with my daughter, her husband, and their two young children, and her husband’s mother and uncle. There was so much we all enjoyed! The all inclusive experience was perfect! So many dining and drinking options with fantastic service. And the pools were incredible. We stayed mostly near the pool with the activities for the kids. They were never bored, and it was a delight to laze in the sun and watch them play.

Wonderful combination of an easy beach vacation with great food and drinks right on the sand, with Yucatan history in the ruins, and extraordinary nature to explore through the cenotes and biosphere. Do not miss the cenotes, underground fresh water pools and caves in the jungle. We travel extensively and they are phenomenal.

The beaches were beautiful and clean, great for walking at the shoreline with warm water and gentle waves. Getting to Isla Holbox was a full day adventure with airport shuttle (limited leave times only from terminal 2 and 2+ hour ride in the shuttle van), then ferry, then ATV style taxi.

The lagoon is exceptional, with stunning natural surroundings, beautiful light, and clean water. Bacalar is a town in transition - already a compelling mix of authenticity and contemporary comforts, with a few excellent restaurants, cafés, and bars, yet thankfully not fully overtaken by rapid gentrification. It feels like exactly the right moment to visit.

We wanted to go here because of rave reviews and because I'm writing a book about goddess Ixchel and one of her temples is located here. We won't return. The island is completely overrun by us tourists. It's a madhouse. The golf cart, taxi and motorcycle traffic is non-stop. We are world travellers, especially to islands. What we saw on Isla Mujeres was a frantic greed to get the highest possible dollar for drinks, food, rooms with the least amount of return to the buyer. It's sad and disheartening.

Puerto Morales is a quaint little town. Guests we have talked to took an Uber there. We did not, this trip. Lots of shops and cafés. The food is good at all of the cafes. Other resorts near Port Morales are close enough to walk to Puerto Morales. There are a couple of great upscale restaurants to have dinner at in Puerto Morales as well. We have not been there, but we have friends who have. They rave about the food and service.

My FAVORITE cenotes were at Sac Actun and Ecopark Kantun Chi. Sac Actun requires a guide, but it's not as expensive as some of the other places. The cenote is beautiful and they provide you with wetsuits (which helps a LOT with the cold) and goggles. It was a very cool experience. Ecopark Kantun Chi has 5 cenotes but we bought the entrance that allows you to go 4 of them without a guide. For us, this was perfect because we could spend as much time as we wanted at each spot and they were all so different and beautiful. I loved #3, which was an open sky cenote with a waterfall and #4, which was a really cool cave with spots where the sunlight streamed in from above. We got to see some lobsters there too. Also a very cool feature is that there are kayaks in several of the cenotes so you get to explore them that way as well. Another cool spot was Languna Yal Ku where we got to snorkel in calm water and see so many different types of fish. I highly recommend wearing clothing that covers your arms and legs since sunscreen isn't permitted and you are directly exposed to the sun the whole time. For meals, we enjoyed traveling to both Akumal Pueblo (for some simple and cheaper meals) and Akumal Playa on the other side of the road for some more variety.
