Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaHot hot hot…no fans.. they could sell cooling clothes for night use… lucky enough we took ours
The accommodation is on the river, that you could throw on life jackets & float down the river…scary & exhilarating at the same time

AustraliaGreat service from a kind and friendly staff. Raft hotel is very remote and a journey into itself to get there. The facilities are basic and a little dated but offer an amazing rustic experience. We stayed into end of season so not so busy which was great but imagine it would be less appetisingly when busy. Bring small rechargeable lights and fans for the rooms and snacks. Great to see keeping them keeping the Mon culture alive.

AustraliaNothing. Great to see the segregation of waste. Some modern facilities don’t even consider this environmental aspect.
Accessible only by boat. Beautiful peaceful getaway. Turn the mobile off and have some time to chill. Really enjoyed a 1 night stay. Great dinner and plenty of food offered. Helpful staff. Room is comfortable and basic, as you’d expect in any remote place. Loved the experience, thank you! 🙏

United KingdomDue to the location this lends itself to relaxation and quiet reflection. Unfortunately we experienced small children and large groups which did not make for a peaceful or restful stay. Running on the rafts should not be allowed (children or adults!) - again, not restful. And screaming whilst floating down the river before 8am just shows how inconsiderate people can be.
Beautiful location on the river. So much wildlife to see, we saw kingfishers at breakfast and the elephant that comes daily. Dinner is good and I liked that whilst it is served to you, you can request more if you are still hungry

AustraliaUntil i arrived, i was unaware they kept a single elephant penned most of the time in the village behind the floating hotel, which they bring to the hotel at breakfast time for guests to feed. Whilst most guests had no issue with this, my family found it distressing. The dinner menu changed every night, but breakfast was always the same. Some variety would have been good. A small solar powered light in the room at night would have been good, as there was no other lighting inside.
The location is beautiful, and its simplicity makes it a wonderful place to unwind and recharge. Floating down the river at the end of a hot day was extremely enjoyable.

The location is wonderful and the facilities were really good. And overall it was great fun. The extra bed we requested was not available but the hotel gave us an extra room, at no extra cost, which was fantastic. The staff were very good indeed , especially because English is not a major language in that region. We soon got used to not having electricity in our rooms and only having cold showers - very healthy !!😁 Everybody loved the boat ride from the jetty upstream to the hotel.

Stunning location, a peaceful back to nature experience. Really good having the kerosene lamps. Good food and plenty of it. Floating down river. Excellent longboat transfer from pier. Very swift check in process.

United KingdomThe elephant it is kept in a concrete enclosure in the village and brought down to the hotel with a rope round his neck every morning for the guest entertainment. If it wasn’t for the elephant my score for this property would have been a ten.
Loved everything about this property a truly unique experience. One of the most amazing experiences. The food was lovely. It’s an early rise early to bed back to nature place. I was worried about the lack of air con but the rooms stay lovely and cool. If your after night life and party this is not your place. For a few days of rest and relaxation in a beautiful location it is amazing. Although there is no electricity there are charging ports for your phone in the reception area.

ItalyThe only downside is the smell of fuel from the boats and their constant coming and going—almost perfect if it weren’t for this detail.
A magnificent place, impeccable service, and the beauty of constantly being cradled by the river—an experience not to be missed!

AustraliaIf you're a light sleeper it could be hard to sleep because the river is loud with the current and the platforms rattle a lot when people walk past your room. Also the boats going past every hour or more are SO loud and definitely should be reduced.
Beautiful location on the river and the whole process of arriving there by train (stunning trip) and getting the boat was amazing. The water is fast flowing so you can't casually swim but floating with the current is a fun novelty. The food was good. It was quite busy when we were there but even so we felt relaxed and just had to be flexible with when we had access to the hammocks/sun beds.

ThailandThe walkways were in front of the rooms so there was a constant flow of people. Walkways would have been better at the back. The patio area was also shared so there wasn’t much space for sitting and relaxing as a couple.
The location was amazing, and the concept of floating rafts was unusual and enjoyable. The views were great and it was very relaxing.

United StatesWe had really quiet neighbors. I could see if I was next to a family or loud people that would be difficult because you are sharing a deck, hammock, and lounger. I wish they had wine. The food was adequate.
The location was amazing. It was super fun floating down the river. It was peaceful and quiet. I wish we booked more than one night! It was like glamping and the bed was very comfortable. it was great they offered a bar.

United KingdomFor around £90 a night our expectation of eco-rustic glamping in a cabin was just not met. The rooms are quite tired. There are 4 x 2-person cabins to every raft, with two loungers and 2 hammocks between potentially 8 people. If occupied, then first come first served and once they have been taken you are left with a bench and table which might not even be outside your own cabin. Lucky for us the resort was under-occupied so we had an entire raft to ourselves but it could have been much worse! The loungers themselves were old and breaking up. In any case, our raft never got the sun in the hours we were there. The included dinner was ok. Breakfast the same. We paid extra to go to the Mon show which was nice. Enjoyed that and it killed some time. In the morning we stayed an extra hour to say we’d made the most of it but we weren’t sorry to leave. Nice to say we have stayed on a raft on the River Kwai but sorry, just not worth the money.
The included boat trip down the river from the pier was a highlight. The appearance of the resort on arrival was good. Dinner was reasonably ok. That’s about where the positivity ends.
