Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAlways hard to say what things would be like if it wasn’t Ramadan. For a budget hotel, this one was pretty good—excellent location on the edge of the medina, next to the harbor, close to the train station and shops. Mapping software (including Booking.com) initially showed me two very different locations—it’s on the north side of the medina, a short walk from the train station. I found a pickpocket (or he found me), and almost lost my phone, so exercise normal precautions on the street. Staff can show you a good Tunisian restaurant close by, and there are several ATMs and one good supermarket also nearby. Room was fine, though small with a somewhat wonky window for ventilation, up a total of two flights of stairs. Large outdoor space which I didn’t make any use of. I’d add that transport schedules I found online were largely incorrect, so check at train or bus stations before committing.

IrelandThe restaurant was not open at the time of year I visited, the kitchen was very small, the WiFi was really slow in my room.
I loved the decor, it's really close to both the Medina and the bus and train stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

HungaryThe facilities leave a lot to be desired, took days to figure out how to turn on the shower so it's not either scalding hot (after I waited and waited and waited for the hot water to come on), or freezing cold if I moved the faucet the fraction of a millimeter
Very helpful, friendly staff, good location.

AustraliaWould be great to have the laundry be self-serve rather than paid (1 dinar per piece at the time), and a shared kitchen would be a great addition. You need to ask for the remote control for the TV and heating/aircon from reception, we had to figure this out, they didn't explain at check-in. Price is not cheap - you can get entire apartments for a similar price in the area, but you can't beat the just-in medina location
Fantastic location, just past the entrance to the Sousse medina and within walking distance to the city beach, train station, cafes and small shops outside the medina. Strongly recommend staying on the medina side of town if you don't want to be in the thick of the tourist resorts further north along the beaches. The immediate access to the medina is just so convenient, plus easy to get taxis and the louage stations are close by too. Room was small but big enough for bags and sleeping - we booked the room with an ensuite. Heating/aircon unit in the room was useful. Clean property in general. Shared spaces are lovely, especially the upstairs terrace areas. Friendly staff across all shifts (it's a 24-hour reception), super helpful with any questions - be it about the room or travels/sights around Sousse.

United StatesThe quality of the rooms is variable, I got a great room, but you could have one where the window opens towards the inside where people hang out and smoke. The rooms are small, but functional. No sound insulation whatsoever.
Great location, near the train station, in the medina, and close to the beach. Excellent value, hostel prices for a private room, with lots of common spaces -- a small kitchen, living room, rooftop and courtyard. I was very happy to have an electric tea kettle available to make coffee in the morning (a rare find in Tunisia). Lots of blankets available since medina buildings are cold in the winter.
