Access road is very poor in places and it is 7km from tarmac.

Nice view. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff who provided a reasonably-priced birthday cake for my wife. Pool table available. Pleasant swimming pool with views.

The only problem with this Lodge is its location. It's far from the main road and the road to Lodge is not good.

Africa Safari Karatu surprised us!! The facilities, staff, location, views, food... everything was just perfect. You need to do a bit of off-roading to reach the property, but the travel is worth it. The place is so clam and quiet and the view all around the property is very nice.

The Food is very basic so after the First dînner we decided to look for other options in Karatu town.

The vue is beautiful and the Swimming pool a Great plus. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Very bad road getting too and from the property which I don’t think was clear enough on the website . Food was a bit repetitive after three nights and there were no lunch options if you were there in the day despite bar snacks being offered.

We were in our safari land cruiser but if you’ve rented a 2WD and you want to come here I think you’d need to negotiate with hotel to pick up in karatu and drive you to hotel. Leaving your own car in karatu.

I had read some negative reviews before arrival and was a bit apprehensive but desperately wanted to avoid the “ mosquito river” town our stay had been planned in on our Safari. We’d been through there in the way to the Serengeti and had a rough night in a dome tent due to the mossies. I think this place has had major renovations since some of the reviews were written. So it was: White renders painted walls not the face brick of other reviewed pictures. Impressively clean rooms Air conditioning worked Hot water /glamorous bathroom/ freestanding bath. Mosquitoes nets/ bedding brand new. Pool was also really clean, kids loved it. Buffet dinner& breakfast good. Location is a 4wd track to get to but much like many of the roads encountered on safari. Yes 20 mins off the main road but that’s why it’s so peaceful and quiet . Each room has its own balcony if upstairs perfect for private sundowner

Location very remote so hard to get in and out, mainly catering for tours, some lack of transparency around whether you could pay by card.

The resort is focused on large tour groups and lacks personality; the pool is too small and had too little chairs for the amount of people; part of the resort is still being build so you arrive at a building site; the biggest problem is that the local government is burning waste close by the resort meaning there is a constant smoke fog and smell in the afternoon and night. The manager told us however he was working on a solution

The price - quality is very good; the kids loved the buffet breakfast and dinner; the room was huge and very clean and comfortable, views are amazing

I have liked everything, but just a comment : the road to reach the hotel was damaged just before our stay by heavy rain and a 4x4 was needed. We were informed by the staff before and everything went smooth driving from main road till the hotel.

It was night when we were reaching and the directions on google maps was not accurate. We had a bit of trouble finding it. It would be good to speak with someone in the property and get clear directions, if you plan to get there after sunset.

Very well maintained property. The rooms are large and nice with a balcony. Good views from the room. Staff were very nice and courteous.
