Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilMy experience with the staff was terrible. Front desk employees are rude and not supportive. We felt intimidated and very disappointed- definitely it compromised our whole experience.
Rooms are very comfortable, with a good view. The hotel also has a rooftop, being a great option for dinners and happy hours.

United StatesLarger room than average NYC hotel. Great water pressure. Comfortable mattress. We had an HVAC problem….. which was not communicated between day staff and night staff. But I give credit to the night staff who problem solved and found us another room.

United KingdomThe biggest let down was the fact the rooftop was shut but there was no notification of this prior to our stay. The road noise was constant but a lot worse over the weekend. Wise we requested a room on a higher level to reduce some of the noise

United StatesWas traveling with 4 people total in one room. The bathroom was not as private as I would have liked. A heavy frosted glass wall and sliding door wasn’t much separation but we made it work. The handle for the glass door needed fixed and the staff was accommodating. Did have to keep asking for towels even though we had turn down service daily.
Hotel location was great! If you need to drive into the city this location was as easy as it gets! I am from the Midwest and was driving a minivan. It was located near several car dealerships and a Fed Ex distributions center - overall felt safe not super busy with people on the street. Queen beds in NYC is not easy to find in this price range either. Room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. We stayed Sunday-Wednesday so the street noise was minimal but I could see how it could get noisy on the weekends.

United StatesOur second time there. Unfortunately, work was being done on the rooftop restaurant/ bar area, so there was a fair amount of noise (stopped around 5:30 and did not start until 7:30 the next morning). We had been looking to go to the rooftop bar for a nightcap, but that was no possible. That would not be enough to prevent us from coming back. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was extraordinary.

United KingdomVery disappointed that the rooftop bar advertised when we booked was not open, despite receiving a message from the hotel offering g a choice of Hudson view which I accepted and they said was blocked for us we did not get this - when questioned I was told this was a paid upgrade but not what the message said . Manager said would try to move us next day but once unpacked this wasn’t an option for us. Also was not aware of $45 amenity feee per day at time of booking which I felt was steep for WiFi and gym access.
Great location and heritage . Room size excellent for NYC. Friendly staff at check in desk .

United KingdomThe suite we stayed in was excellent. We had a small leak one evening and staff sorted it exceptionally quickly. This demonstrates the high service offered. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is a haven away from a lot of the frantic New York way but close enough that you can reach places like time square quickly by foot.

CanadaWe were on the street side so it was somewhat noisy at times. Also we could smell the odour of pot coming through the vent on occasion. Not against smoking pot, just against the pervasive smell.
Great little hotel and fantastic reception by staff. Proximity to Sullivan Street Bakery: We went there for breakfast every day. As foodies it was one of our highlights. Thank you to our concierge for pointing us in that direction. And a high five to Landmark Tavern across the street. If you don’t want to go far for good food, go to the Tavern. Ladtly, the beds were very comfortable.

United StatesThe restaurant was not open, although there are restaurants on 10th Avenue. There is an in-house option for a continental breakfast. The room had a great view, corner on the 17th floor. It is a room being upgraded. There is a shower curtain for the shower instead of glass doors, the safe was low batt so I could not use it, the drapes are not properly hung (the panel ends were hanging), the phone was missing a face plate, the clock showed wrong time, and a chunk of tile missing at the entrance inside.
Excellent location for people taking a cruise. The terminal is walking distance, about 5 minutes door to door. I had a medium-sized luggage and a carry-on, the sidewalk was fairly smooth. It was not difficult to do. The bed and pillows were comfortable. A fairly large room.

CanadaThere were no amenities available. No restaurant, nowhere to grab a coffee or breakfast, or have a cocktail. A rooftop bar and seating area would have been nice, but was not in place when we were staying at the hotel. I was told that they were in the process of setting these services up, so perhaps this will no longer be an issue.
The size of the room was unexpectedly large....particularly by New York standards. The view was fantastic. The location was perfect for us. We were walking distance from Times Square and just around the corner from our cruise ship. Couldn't have been better
