Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceBreakfast could have been a little more varied! After 3 mornings eating the same thing, it became a bit boring. Only two single beds in the room, instead of one double. For couples, could be nice to have a double.
Wonderful, warm and welcoming owner & staff, who even went so far as to put a big screen tv in our room so my husband could watch a much anticipated football match. Gorgeous courtyard with traditional Uzbek table, and views of the minaret. We had fun dressing up in the outfits in the lobby. Very central location, walking distance to everything you might want to visit. Overall, a wonderful experience. Would recommend.

ItalyI had a great stay in Islam Khodja guesthouse! The location is right in the heart of Khiva and you can reach all main attractions walking. The room was clean and comfortable. The owner and his family were super helpful and tried their best to make my stay comfortable, helping me with every request and even preparing for me a lunch box for the last day since I had an early flight. I highly recommend it!

AustraliaLovely room, comfy bed and great breakfasts. But the absolute best thing about Islam Khodja was the staff who went out of their way to help me, give advice and make sure I was having a good time in their beautiful city. The hotel is simple but homely and that's part of its charm. Would definitely come back.

United StatesWell run by two brothers Roma and Tilla, who are very helpful with good English skills. Tilla is a good driver who picked us up at the Urgench airport, and another day took us to visit several fortresses and then to the train station. Nice accommodation with pleasant common area, and two seating areas for breakfast, one outdoors and one indoors. Nice breakfast buffet with a variety of items. Great location within the old city walls, easy walking distance to all sites, restaurants, etc.

United KingdomReally nice guest house within the old city (Itchan Kala), everything is within walking distance. It is tucked away a bit so the guest house is very quiet. There are loads of restaurants nearby, the hosts gave us really good recommendations on where to eat and were generally really helpful. The breakfast was really tasty with proper coffee and it was really nice to have breakfast in the courtyard.

United StatesAll good.
I had a fabulous stay at Islam Khodja. Although I only stayed one night, I was given a fantastic room with a view. Two things set this guesthouse apart. Its owner is caring and industrious and the availability of free tea and coffee was super nice. The breakfast was also delicious.

SpainPerhaps a bit more space in the room to leave our stuff, to us it was no big deal as we travel light. Other guests with more luggage may find the room lacks a a bit more storage space
Staff was super helpful. After an overnight flight, they rushed to get our room ready as soon as the guests left and let us check-in 6h in advance! Also, breakfast was great and they organised trips to nearby attractions super efficiently. We had the best time in the hotel.

IsraelLocated in a peaceful corner of the old town, just a minute walk from where all the historic monuments begin. The room and shower were very clean and tidy. Hot water was available at any time. Breakfast is rich and varied. The owner of the place is a lovely and polite guy. He also offers private tours for reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Lovely guesthouse located inside the walls of Old Khiva where I can walk everywhere. Helpful host who drove me to get local sim card outside Old Khiva and even dropped me and my friends at the train station for free. He speaks English which was helpful. Highly recommended.

IndiaAwesome place run by friendly hosts in the old city. They have a great backyard with the view of the Islam Khodja minaret where we enjoyed our delicious breakfast and evening coffee. One of the days we had to leave at 6 in the morning for a day trip and the hosts packed us lunch for the road. They are really friendly and they had great restaurant recommendations for us.

JapanGreat location - in the old city within city walks, easy walk everywhere Delicious breakfast buffet, also tea and snacks available all the time Nice outside patio to relax after sightseeing Amazing hospitality- we booked with the host the pick up from Urgench and then a Khorezm fortress trip with a transfer to Bukhara- very professional service and very reasonable price The only slight minus - as it’s an old house, bathroom has no ventilation so it’s gets a smell. But that’s unavoidable if you want to stay at such old traditional place .

We have been truly touched by the hospitality and warmth from the host and his family at Islam Khodja. The whole guesthouse is thoughtfully done (It is the family home of the owner and it felt very authentic). The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean with all the facilities. Breakfast was 10/10. It was so good and all homemade. Do try all their dishes, each and every dish is tasty. My partner was vegetarian and she had a lot of varieties to try and we were quite happy. The owner and his family are always around for any support you need, very kind of them. The guesthouse is located within the walled city so all attractions are nearby. The hosts had given us great food recommendations and we liked all of them. Last but not the least, they made a surprise birthday cake for my partner for her birthday - We were truly touched by this gesture. All in all we had an amazing experience, we will never forget the hospitality and kindness. Wish all the best. We highly recommend staying here, it's worth every penny!!

United Arab EmiratesWe loved everything about Islam Khodja, this delightful family owned and run guesthouse, from the location to the generous breakfast, the clean rooms to the fast wifi but most of all we appreciated the warmth and genuineness of the hosts. We had long and insightful discussions with Runa about Uzbekistan, its rich history, food and culture. His recommendations on places to visit, restaurants to try etc were all spot on. For all 5 of us this was our favourite stay of the 3 guesthouses we stayed in Uzbekistan. Thank you again and wish you all the best for the future!
