Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the old part of the city, and the service was outstanding. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The food was also excellent, and to top it all off, we even received a thoughtful souvenir from the hotel. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

FranceA big thanks to the team. Everyone was very helpful especially Katharina at the reception. A great place and location to stay when visiting Hanoï. You can hear the train from the hotel so you can run to see it when it is about to arrive 😀

AustraliaThe property is a little dated and the plumbing on the 7th floor had loud water gushing sounds that appear to be coming from the pipes in the ceiling. We didn't like the food at the rooftop restaurant, it just generally a let down compared to the rest of the property.
The check in was seamless. Great customer service from the guy who checked us in at night. He was the only one that asked us if we require another room card which was very thoughtful. This doesn't seem a given in Vietnam. The breakfast was limited but the food was of great quality.

MalaysiaWater pressure in the showers is low.
First class service from Austin, Ling and Billy. Especially from Austin who is a class above, ensuring we have dinner reservations and activities are in order. Not an easy feat considering as there are 8 of us. Location is perfect and is shielded from the usual noise as it is off the main roads. Easy access to food and walking distance to Sword Lake. They even have bicycles to use if you are brave enough to cycle in the Hanoi traffic. Breakfast is good although it can get a little boring as we were in the hotel for a total of 7 days.

First Rate service especially from Austin and Ling. Super helpful and gives great suggestions on where to eat. Austin even helped us to book a cab to the train station. Location is great and it is on the quieter side of the Old Quarter. Easy walking distance to many local attractions.

United KingdomBreakfast wasn't the best: very poor selection of cereals - only cornflakes and chocolate type cereal. Should provide porridge oats and muesli at very least too. Potted yoghurt would be good too.
Fantastic, friendly and helpful staff. Room was very good: plenty of space, nice balcony with city view (6th floor). Was very clean.

NetherlandsLocated in the middle of the city center, very close to train street and everything within walking distance. Breakfast is amazing, same for the service of the staff. We had a late train to Hoi An and when we were waiting in the lobby we got some tea and they offered us even a shower. Normally I wouldn’t write a review but we had such a good time that they deserve it :-). Would definitely recommend staying here!

United KingdomThe one thing was that our toilet had a slight leak when we arrived but not a big deal for us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, we had just finished the Ha Giang Loop and were looking to unwind a little. This hotel provided that in abundance, the bed was soft and the comfiest we have had in Vietnam. Large kingsize pillows and robes and slippers. The room was clean, spacious and everything we could have needed was provided. We did our washing here as well, dropped it off at 9:30am and received it back by 6pm washed and dried as well as folded (100k VND per KG). Bathroom had everything in it too, large waterfall shower which was hot and had amazing pressure. Furthermore, we used the spa facilities (sauna and massage) the sauna was £12 for about 45 minutes usage and Binh gave my partner the best massage she has had on our 2 month trip around SE Asia. They also provided tea, watermelon juice and cold fruit prior to the spa. Breakfast on the 8th floor was delicious and had so many options. Reception in general were so amazingly kind and thoughtful, they went above and beyond at all times, providing us breakfast to take away, as we were leaving before 6:00 and they even called our Grab driver to ensure we were picked up and dropped off at the correct locations. Unfortunately didn’t get this receptionists name but he was an absolute gent!
