Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere was probably just a little bit too much pressure to join activities, with frequent reminders and door knocks, but we understood it was to keep everyone informed and on schedule, because the activities were paid for. The cruise isn’t just a moving hotel in Ha Long Bay; it’s designed as a full cultural and sightseeing experience, which comes with a premium price and very attentive staff. While we appreciated this, we prefer travel as a chance to relax and recharge from stressful work, so a packed schedule isn’t our ideal. We would have preferred one or two optional activities per day for a more relaxed and slightly cheaper experience, but we understand that’s how cruises operate. Communication before the cruise was a little confusing, finding the right group to embark at the dock, but once we were on the cruise ship, the communications from the staff onboard were great.
The staff were amazing and made us feel at home. We also met fellow travelers and stayed up chatting past midnight on the first night - which is always special, meeting people from the other countries. The excursions were great, though we preferred more relaxation time, and the staff were happy to let us just enjoy the boat. Living on the water for a couple of days felt special, especially since most people only stay overnight. It was a luxurious and unforgettable experience. Also. The staff. I just had to say that again, because they were really lovely and amazing hosts.

New ZealandNot necessarily a negative but should warn the chronically online - Wifi is basically nonexistent, so don’t expect to be connected during your time on the cruise. If you have phone data, then you’ll get service for the majority of your stay - you’ll usually lose service when the boat is cruising along the bay. No bath salts/bubbles etc. provided, so if you want to use the bath tub, then bring your own supplies or make do with a plain water soak or soap up the water with the shower gel provided. Would be great if something was provided considering that each room has a tub and it is a 5 star cruise. Also noticed that the drainage in the shower was blocked up but nothing major that can’t be fixed.
Nice spacious room, comfy bed with big bathroom. Decent sized balcony with comfortable seating to enjoy the views of the bay. The staff were great, funny and personable. They took care to communicate the upcoming activities, going around to each party to make sure the plans were clear and you knew where to be. Props to Tom Cruise and Nick for the laughs and the informative guidance on tours and activities. We stayed over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day which was very memorable! The staff made the celebrations on New Year’s Eve so much fun and it was nice to see the staff also enjoying themselves and mingling with the guests. 10/10 experience made so by the staff who put so much effort to make sure everyone was having a good time. Food was very good and buffets usually had a good selection of food to choose from.

Luxurious cruise with excellent staff and delicious meals. All the activities were arranged beautifully with utmost care by the staff. Additionally shout out to our cruise manager Tom "Cruise" for his wonderful job to keep us engaged.

AustraliaKing bed was just two single beds pushed together so made it a bit uncomfortable with my partner. The room also had a very odd smell.
The cruise and itinerary were well planned. The room itself was a great size, and lots of food was always available. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThe trip from Hanoi to Halong could skip the stop over, and the drivers should be instructed to not sms / check videos while driving on a highway.
If you want to cruise in Ha Long bay with 5 star room and genuine vietnamese food and experience, you should look no further and book away. The cruise is very well appointed and the staff are super friendly.

United KingdomThis was the most expensive part of our whole trip to Vietnam, so unfortunately that comes with expectations. The food was generally pretty poor after the first lunch and dinner. The excursions were hit and miss. Everything costs more! You have to pay to have the jacuzzi baths filled up and switched on. You have to pay for karioli!! Total madness. If they put that on for free, people would entertain themselves and perhaps even spend a bit more at the bar, which was closed all day, until happy hour at about 5:30pm. This is no the 5* experience you might expect for the price. The location is a given... they need to to better at the smaller things. Don't try to be too 'European' with the food - do your local food and do it well!!! Stop trying to be too clever.
Very nice boat to stay on for two nights. The pick-up in Hanoi was on time, and transfer to the coast was excellent. Long wait for our transfer to the ship and a hot, uncomfortable 45min transfer on hard wooden benches. The food was OK on Day 1, but went downhill on Day 2. It was not good at all. The room was really amazing though. Really lovely. The excursions were good, if chaotic on the first day - the kayaking was crazy busy. The staff were all very young and appeared inexperienced - they needed to communicate better and make things clear. The main day out excursion was fantastic - we were lucky to have only 6 of us on a speed boat for 20. Great kayaking, great guide, very interesting lunch at the fishing village and then a stop at an isolated little beach. That part was extraordinary. The happy hour drinks were excellent and overall we're glad we did it.

QatarThe shower within the bath tub. We would have preferred a stand alone shower and no bath tub.
The cabin we stayed in for two nights was large and better equipped than many five star hotel rooms / suites. The staff, Ms. Daisy in particular, would go out of their way and we’ll beyond the call of duty to ensure guests (like us) would have an unforgettable stay on this cruise.
