Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Do not expect a luxurious place, but it is nice. We chose this hotel because it was cheap. The room is restrained, but clean. The swimming pool is not working.

The shower cabin was very dirty inside and on the walls. The floor of the drain was smeared and discoloured. There was mold on the edges. The wall tiles around the shower were also dirty with hair and mold. I had to be careful that the toilet did not run. The pipes in the bathroom were rusted with mold on them. The reception was almost always unmanned. The lock on the sliding door to the balcony did not work. At night the hallways were dark. Lights flickered on briefly.
My husband stayed at Kaan and has submitted the following review = The location is about 5-7 minutes from the local city busses that frequently run on the nearby main road. It costs 35 TL per bus ride like from the city centre. There is a reasonably good supermarket called 'Tarsan' very close by and enough cafes and restaurants. The floors of the living room and bedroom were reasonably clean. The refrigerator was clean as well. The bed was also clean and neatly made during my absence. The air conditioner in my bedroom worked reasonably well (I did not use the air conditioning in the living room). There are closets and it was nice to have hangers. There is a water cooker to boil water and a sink but no cooking facilities. Upon request the evening of arrival, a mug was given and more was offered (like cutlery or plates) if needed. The toilet and sink were fairly clean and enough WC paper was provided. There were enough windows in the apartment and balcony. The personnel were friendly. Still strange to be received by a person in a grubby shirt, shorts and flip-flops. But really nice and correct. The man and woman who received me spoke English well and settled me in well. I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was handy that there is a lift. The wifi worked alright. The money I gave too much by mistake was neatly returned. Everything except the bathroom is reasonable.

Very noisy place, the maintenance is very low. No blackout curtains - you wake up at 6 am with the sunrise!

The facility needs a total makeover!!! Everything is beyond comprehension… dirt, broken electrical sockets, a fridge that was not cleaned for years, mould.. etc
I liked nothing except the personnel. There were no soap, shampoo or shower gel, no hair dryer. Breakfast was not included.

the locks on the outside of the door > in what way is that safe? someone could lock someone in. I was scared to be in there. It just felt creepy. Loads of enmities but nothing like a fork or spoon bowl ect. But I left before speaking to the owner. Toilet broken, water was cold. the key in the room that powers the power with the key card is a worry. It's old and loud. don't stay if on your own I would say.

Everything. Not satisfied with staff, the payment system was attritions and I had to withdraw cash in their currency because they didn’t want to get charged fees from booking.com. They give you a small amount of shower gel and once it runs out you have to pay soap, same goes for toilet tissue and wifi. You cannot have anyone else in the hotel with you isn’t staying there which is annoying. Asked the hotel not to clean my room as I was going to get breakfast and returning but I can back and everyone was shuffled around.
There was no breakfast I had to pay for breakfast every morning elsewhere.
