Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Beautiful small lodge located in amazing private reserve! The rooms were stunning and we could see giraffes and warthogs from our terrace! The staff was super nice and attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed! The food was delicious and they catered for gluten free requirements very well. The drives were also great! Our guide Des was extremely knowledgeable and fun and we saw all the big fives, incredible scenery and learned about so much about all the animals! Overall this is a great reserve, we had a very special time and would highly recommend!

United KingdomThe rooms are stunning - huge and extremely comfortable bed, aircon/fan/underfloor heating, bath overlooking the watering hole, living room area, and of course the private plunge pool from where we saw warthogs and bushbuck wander over for a drink from the nearby watering hole. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented with 3-course meals for both lunch and dinner. We also enjoyed the sunset drinks and snacks. There were lots of little touches like the free minibar with bottles of wine as well as dry and sloe gin, bath salts and oils for the bath overlooking the watering hole, robes, fleece ponchos for when it gets chilly on the game drives etc, which made the stay feel even more luxurious. We had been at a different lodge the day before so had different things we had already seen/wanted to see to the rest of our game drive group. However, our ranger Mnoni aka Mr President went out of his way to accommodate us all and make sure we got to see everything we hoped for. We had an incredible 2 game drives seeing cheetahs, lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, hippo etc. Mnoni was also very knowledgable and taught us lots of interesting facts about the animals and the reserve.

South AfricaNothing. All satisfactory. Best value for money
It's very accessible from the N2 main national road between Grahamstown and Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The Safari drives we got to see most of the animals available there. The Ranger was very insightful and knowledgeable about the animals. The establishment is breathtaking. Peaceful place with great adequate facilities. Each room had its own personal pool and Butler. It's great to see animals wandering around the lodge at a safe distance. Guest were friendly aswell. Great experience. To be repeated again some day.

New ZealandThat we couldn’t stay longer😞
We could not fault our stay. Everything from start to finish was seamless and well organised . The individual lodges are completely private and beautifully appointed with really comfy beds. The common areas are gorgeous too. The food is outstanding and very plentiful, we loved that we dined on our own for breakfast and lunch but then got to all sit together for dinner sharing and chatting about our day. The staff are very professional and friendly. The game drives are amazing!!!Our guide Justin was awesome sharing lots of interesting information and finding so many of the animals for us to see in the reserve. We were also very impressed by the fact that it truly is all inclusive, no unexpected surprises. We just wish we had stayed longer as this truly was a trip of a lifetime.

United KingdomWow. If you dream of a Safari Lodge where giraffes come down to the water hole whilst sat in your plunge pool, this is the place. A beautiful location with just 11 lodges strategically placed so that it still feels intimate. Good food and hospitality with Safari Drives makes this a special place for us safari newbies. Would highly recommend.

Lovely place. Would like to be given the option of dining as a couple OR sharing a table. We spoke to several couples you would have preferred sharing as it's a fun way to meet new people, swap safari stories and share laughter. We asked a couple to join us fie dinner saying the previous night they had dealt outside the group. Loved Addo Park. The food was fantastic!!

United KingdomOur bathroom could do with some tlc. We had problems getting hot water in the outdoor shower, but was sorted quite quickly. The shower attachment with the bath was very ineffective and we weren't able to fill the bath. The area around the sink needs to be refurbished. Our plunge pool was not working so was covered in dead bugs and it was cloudy. It took a reminder to get it sorted.
The outlook from our lodge was lovely.Seeing the animals at close quarters was wonderful. Our safaris were great, although it did take some time to reach certain parts of the reserve, but worth it to see the animals. Our ranger was very informative and dedicated to tracking down the animals.
