Our second hotel in South Africa exceeded all our expectations. Pure luxury, friendly staff, a stunningly beautiful room, and a very spacious, elegant bathroom. We’re already looking forward to returning to Lanzerac.

I don’t think that the food at the restaurant is truly on par with the calibre of the establishment. Perhaps a variation at breakfast and better tasting meals for lunch and dinner.

The staff is friendly. The attention to detail is exceptional. The facilities are clean and aesthetically pleasing. Rich with history.

Breakfast and Deli are great but the other restaurant offering less so for this level of hotel, both in terms of service and food quality.

Beautiful hotel in lovely quiet surroundings but only 10 mins drive from the centre of lively Stellenbosch. Lovely room with outstanding bathroom. Helpful and friendly staff, especially welcome/concierge/transport team. Lovely to have the main pool and smaller pool near the room as a quieter option. Deli always a highlight, Tiphuis restaurant less so

The food for lunch was awful (Caesar salad and soft shelled crab burger). Staff are also very disorganised and the management of the property not effective.

We ate in the restaurant and had a wonderful main course but the Eton Mess was disappointing, the chef could do with using a different recipe for meringue, this was made with macaroon , hard and tasteless. The girl who did our wine tasting was not the most friendly. Certain products in our room were not replenished such as the English breakfast tea bags … a must for my husband, fortunately I had some with me .

Great location very peaceful Most of the staff wonderful, particularly at reception and the driver who took us into Stellenbosch Had the best pork belly in the restaurant I’ve ever eaten.

Breakfast needs to be a bit improve for an hotel like this. Few choices...Quality was good but i must say i was expecting much more!

Exceptional service and fantastic customer service throughout. We loved our stay - room and bathroom were gorgeous, patio to relax in and breakfast was superb. Food / wine tasting also very good - we enjoyed the cellar tour. We enjoyed the spa and pool area too. Staff super friendly. Definitely recommend for a taste of luxury whilst in Stellenbosch (shuttle service also handy!) and look out for the owls! X

Staff at reception were not friendly at all in comparison to everywhere else we have stayed in SA. Not a can do attitude but more doing bare minimum. If they were nicer it would have been rated even higher but they let us down for 5 star. They were unhelpful and really didn’t feel happy to be there. Also the bedrooms are paper thin walls so you can hear every conversation in the room next to you. This is very annoying and nothing you can do about it.

Beautiful grounds, pool area and spa! You can really relax and enjoy. We loved it! Nice you get to try the wines there and the rooms are nice and large. Huge bed which was great. Mini bar was topped up every day and we got to try a lot of their wines! Waiters and waitresses were lovely.
