Long way to get to the lodge Besides the lions at the lodge we didn’t see that many of the bigger animals around the lodge at the game drives. In this area there are no giraffes, buffalo, etc. but you see them in the valley on your way to the meeting point of the lodge. So the game drives around the lodge area were a bit disappointing.

Very special and terrific place and location Great atmosphere and views Lions at the lodge New pool, small but enough for refreshing in the middle of nowhere

Stated in brochure we will visit a tradional bushman village. I was very disapponted as for men sitting there making curios and selling them is not a tradional village. I felt cheated and there was misrepresentation.

Our guide was excellent, staff was very friendly and lodge is at a good location

It takes one hour and 92 dunes to get to the national park and another one hour and 92 dunes to get back to the lodge. The lodge management couple who were really not interested in their guests and we experienced them as unfriendly. They were more interested in their granddaughter creating havoc at the lodge. She insisted to ride on the luggage trolley and jumped onto my camera bags much to the dismay of the staff. This is an area were remoteness and tranquility are part of the success of the lodge. An out-of-control toddler disturbed the peace, ambience and uniqueness of this lodge.

Remoteness. Our guide Castro is exceptional. His 20/20 vision identified many new bird species and we saw 9 owls during our 4-night stay.

This a wonderful place to add to Kgalagadi visit. Staff and ranger very friendly and knowledgable. The view is amazing. This is the place to relax and enjoy the desert, with no pressure. Would highly recommend to add this to a visit the area.

    Nothing.

Amazingly peaceful and remote location in the middle of the Kalahari dunes overlooking a pan; very friendly and helpful staff; an outstanding guide (Castro), tasty meals (included in price); nicely planned outings (included in price); very nice food and beverage selection; super hosts (Anthony and Suzy)...and incredible nighttime views of the sky as an official dark sky sanctuary.

Nothing at all. At first I missed internet and phone connectivity but that was one of the best things about it in the end. You can totally disconnect!

Xaus is a special place, a step towards giving the San Community their dignity and land back. Our proud San guides were terrific. They are so passionate and knowledgeable about their land and its animal life. Donovan and Koos really made us feel welcome and taught us many things about the long and proud history of the Bushmen people. We will be back.

Amazing location! Not fenced, the animals come really close to the Lodge. At night you hear the lions roar. The price for the night includes different game drives (i.e. Sundowner, morning walk and Night drive)

Not staying more nights. There was nothing to complain about at !Xaus, it was excellent and surpassed expectations.

Difficult to describe our 3 night stay in !Xaus other that it was a true life experience. The atmosphere was spiritual and emotional, the view across the salt pan was a wonder to behold. The magic of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park is palpable in this magic part of South Africa. The knowledgeable staff (Koos and Donovan) added significant bushman depth to our experience.

We had no complaints, it was all wonderful.

The beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings, the wonderful hosts Anthony and Susie, the exceptional staff, the brilliant guide Castro, and the comfortable lodge despite it being in the middle of nowhere.
