Located on the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, Lake Naverone Holiday Cottages is set on large estate with 2 lakes and 7 km of river frontage. Staff were very friendly. Really good value.

The setting is serene and peaceful, with stunning views of the mountains and the lake right from the property. It was so calm and beautiful that we often had to push ourselves to leave and explore the area because it was so tempting to simply stay and enjoy the surroundings. The accommodation itself is beautifully kept, with impeccable housekeeping and a level of care in how everything is thoughtfully appointed that immediately stands out. Chris and Magda truly have hosting down to an art form. This is easily the best place we’ve stayed in South Africa and one of the best anywhere in our travels around the world. About Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast: Cathkin Cottage Bed & Breakfast, offers comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in the Central Drakensberg. We LOVED our stay here. The room was a good size with a large bathroom and small prep area with a fridge. We really appreciated the lounge/library which has many couches and board games. We played a game each night with a glass of wine, we were the only ones using it. It’s nice to have a space outside of the bedroom. Breakfast was excellent and a good way to meet other guests. The host was so friendly and had great recommendations. The backyard was also incredibly beautiful and a lovely place to sit after a long day of hiking. We recommend the dragon’s restaurant and pub, dragonview lodge and Swallowfield Restaurant for dinners/lunch.

Located around a privately owned lake with views of the Drakensberg mountain range, Sani Valley Nature Lodges offers secluded chalet accommodation in a tranquil setting with game viewing... Staff are very hospitable, especially Silindile, Nonto, and Sabelo. Lakeside view is exceptional. The warm jacuzzi after my first mountain hike was a treat!

Berghouse and Cottages is situated in a rural setting, high up in the Northern Drakensberg Hills, 30 km from Bergville. Free WiFi is available in each cottage. We loved everything about our stay and will definitely return. Our cottage was fairytale cute, and the view from it was amazing. An added bonus were the little Shetland Ponies who came to visit us while we had our breakfast.
