Hotel felt clean, very good pool and changing facilities, spacious bedroom with huge double bed, pleasant and helpful staff. The location was excellent for us as it was near to Rye and had good parking facilities. Evening meal was very good - delicious watercress soup which helped warm us up.

Rye Castle was the most intact castle I've visited and small enough to explore in less than an hour. The huge ones like Bodiam are impressive, while Rye Castle was more managable for us seniors. It had a full armor, a real gibbit, a museum, battlements, the works - and not more than my knees could handle.
The cobble streets are amazing but not for those with poor balance. Luckily, most streets are paved. A great small bookstore!

RYE is the most amazing town I have ever visited.
RYE is the most amazing town I have ever visited. So much history, so many really old buildings, each one with so much history behind them. It is a very compact little town and I could walk around it despite my painful hip. Cute little tea rooms, interesting pubs, great restaurants. At night it comes more alive with all the restaurants open. Fantastic views from Ypres Tower and various viewpoints. Narrow tidal river. Slightly further afield is Rye Harbour and Marsh nature walks. Ships sailed right up to Rye up until the 1200s but then receded to 2 miles away. 5 miles away is Winchelsea, with its grid pattern road layout and magnificent church where Spike Milligan is buried. Highly recommend a visit to Rye, read up about it first or watch all the UTube visitor programmes.

Lovely village lots to do in and around Rye. We wish we could have stayed much longer. It was so nice and had a lot of personality we could have stayed much longer if we could. We will come back soon and we loved the village of Battle, the Rye Heritage Centre, The Battle of Hastings Museum

Rye is an absolute gem of a town!
Rye is an absolute gem of a town!
It’s full of charm, with its winding cobbled streets, historic buildings, and beautiful views at every corner. Walking around feels like stepping back in time, yet it’s so alive with independent shops, cosy cafés, and lovely pubs. We enjoyed wandering through Mermaid Street, visiting the old church, and exploring the little boutiques. There's a peaceful atmosphere, but at the same time, plenty to see and do. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, especially if you love history and pretty surroundings. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Beautiful mediaeval historic town with plenty of small shops, good bars and restaurants. We also visited the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which has an excellent Discovery Centre with a cafe.
Some of the streets are cobbled so not good for our wheelchair, but it was still easy to get around on foot.
The hotel itself is beautiful, nice decorative room, comfy bed and the courtyard for drinks that opens out onto the main street in Rye is lovely. Great location and overall a very nice hotel.
This is a lovely little hotel and I always stay here when in Rye. Its pretty central with decent sized rooms, has good WiFi and does an excellent breakfast.
