the location was marvellous. The surrounding, close to the castle and being able to walk in the ground early/late in the day, was magnificent. Excellent breakfast, the food in the restaurant was pristine.

Was surprised to find such a nice hotel in that small village, Few rooms but mine was nicely set, well renovated with a huge bathroom, clean and confortable, quiet even with windows on the road. The great plus is that you are above the 1 star Michelin restaurant so you are sure to spend a great evening. Also near to Chambord, so great location for the Loire valley chateaux. Great value considering the reasonable price of the room.
Set in Suèvres, in a historic building, 12 km from Chateau de Talcy, La Bergerie is a bed and breakfast with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and open-air bath.

The hosts were very kind and pleasant. The location was excellent for Chambord, and was a peaceful, tranquil semi-rural location. The dinner was tasty and hearty and very satisfying in an impressive dining area, shared with other guests. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The rooms were clean and fresh.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds of the chateau with a beautiful scenic views of the countryside. Plenty of outdoor activities and facilities to enjoy the nature. Great for dogs 🐕 , plenty of open spaces and the walks and cycle routes are well signed so you know exactly what path to take.

Visiting the castle is an opportunity to learn more about François 1er. He is much more intelligent and visionary than he is portrayed in some TV shows and movies. If you want to know more about Francois 1er, you should complete the trip by visiting Fontainebleau.

Although I had been to Chambord numerous times, I was intrigued by the new presentation by Jacques Garcia. It brings the chateau to life. Before the entry was very austere. The Francois I apartment is more interesting, with a bed more in keeping with the time. There are a lot of interesting touches which reflect the lifestyle at the time such as the bed used for travel (from the period) and also the camp bed in the bedroom which would have been used by a manservant. My friends were impressed by the new kitchen section (kitchens don't interest me!).

Make sure you get clear directions on how to enter the gated hotel reception area which is very poorly signed. GPS takes one to the gated tourist visitor area not the hotel lot. Consider the dining options before making a reservation. If you want convenience for visiting the Chambord Chateau from your hotel you cannot do better than this upscale property.
Absolutely incredible hotel!! Everywhere you look, inside and out, is beautiful, gorgeous, and inspirational. The proprietor and the hotel worker were both so helpful, charming, and informational. Do you want to eat an incredible breakfast in a room with wood beams painted in 1620? Do you want to wake up in a high-ceilinged room and look out at a gorgeous river, traversed by an Eiffel bridge? Do you want to drink champagne while looking over a noble grass lawn that slopes toward Chambord? Don’t miss out on this sensational hotel!!
Beautiful well preserved chateau, amazing historical significance, very clean, delicious daily french breakfast included in the price, very comfortable beds. The chateau owner and staff very friendly and attentive to all your needs ensuring you have the best possible time. I can’t wait to come back and bring my teenage boys. Central location close to the most popular tourist attractions. Because of this very special property, the Loire Valley will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.
The Chateau des Grotteaux Près Chambord is absolutely beautiful, charming, and a dream castle. The owners, Gaël and Cécile made our stay perfect in every way. They helped us plan our day and booked an excellent nearby restaurant for us. Breakfast was delicious with fruits and jams made on site. The tour of the chateau and its history was well explained by Emma. Clean and very comfortable beds. Conveniently located to various castles and the city of Blois. I highly recommend this chateau.
The hosts are amazing-friendly, welcoming and rightfully enthusiastic about their special home. It is exceptional in every way. Beautifully maintained, thoughtfully decorated and the grounds were bucolic and steeped in history. Peaceful and yet centrally located to see the sites of the Loire Valley. It was full of wonder in every way. The breakfast in the lovely dining room was delicious as well.
We liked the fact that it was in walking distance to Chateau Chambord and you could have a great outdoor view of this beautiful Chateau day or night. Rooms were quite small, but clean. The room we booked was facing a closed in courtyard/garden. We enjoyed dining in the main restaurant during one night of our stay. However, the restaurant could have had more staff on hand.
The staff is very welcoming. The room was a bit small but perfectly clean and very comfortable. The place is by the Chambord castle inside a huge domain. It’s really relaxing to walk around and sleep in such a quiet place.
Wonderful location, just steps away from the impressive Chambord castle. It was a great experience staying there and enjoying all the activities one can have in the area. Very good bar service as well.
it’s an incredible place! The French government, who set up the whole village and the hotel around the castle, thought of everything. The castle itself is very close and the history is amazing.
The hotel was new and wonderfully upkept. the breakfast and dinner was marvelous. most of all you ar ein Chanbord NAtional PArk itself and have full access top the ground sto relax.
Chateau des Grotteaux was such a lovely place! Gael and family were the perfect hosts. The Chateau itself is beautifully restored, with a fascinating history.
