    Portree is lovely.

Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.

Location was very good. Easy to walk to restaurant s and shops. Breakfast was good with home made items and plenty of options. Had off street parking. The hosts Andy and Liam were great, very friendly and a virtual font of useful information that helped us a lot to maximize our enjoyment of Skye. The room was quiet with a comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom with an excellent shower. Only place we stayed in Scotland that had USB chargers in outlets to charge iPhones. This was a great place to stay in Portree.

Fabulous spacious room with superb view! Comfy, clean, tasteful, well looked after. Super friendly host! Loved all the little extras: a wee dram, variety of coffees in room, quirky/fun art/ornaments etc Breakfast was delicious and pre ordered the night before- lots of options and included buffet items too. Parking was very easy opposite the hotel and location great to easily access Portree itself, as well as a great base to explore Skye. We had 2 nights here and would highly recommend.

The host were very friendly & welcoming. Our room was small but the beds & pillows were so comfortable we slept well. The breakfast was amazing so much choice & really delicious. You could easily walk into the Portree township 5 mins, there’s lots of restaurants & hotels to choose from for dinner or lunch.. But you do need to book in advance. I would highly recommend Meadowbank guest house if staying in Portree.

We loved everything about this hotel! The room was gorgeous, had a warm and cozy atmosphere and had the most beautiful view. The breakfast was amazing each morning! The staff were so personable and always made us feel welcome. This was our favorite stay in Scotland for the 3 weeks that we traveled. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the Isle of Skye and will recommend to all! Thank you!

Great location in Portree. All the staff were really nice. They hold back tables in the restaurant for hotel guests so if the restaurant is booked online, just email the hotel, as I did, and they got us a reservation. Food was excellent as was the service. Rooms were spacious and cozy. Its an old hotel with all the charm but has upgraded bathrooms, etc. Good choice all around.

By far and away the best accomodation of our 8 day trip to scotland. A huge room built by the side of the owners house and a fantastic cooked breakfast brought to you on a tray the next morning. Owners were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Dont hesitate to book this accomodation if you're visiting portree on the isle of skye. A wonderful experience.

Everything was wonderful! Amazing lodge with great location. Nigel provided some great snacks, a nice surprise upon arrival. Interior of the lodge is modern and well outfitted. Beds were very comfortable. 4 miles into Portree, 3 miles to Old Man of Storr. Easy access to the entire island. A wonderful base camp for exploring the beauty of Skye.

Mery and Les were very good hosts, they gave us tips to access Portree, where to have the best ice-cream and which places to explore in Skye. We were also very satisfied with our breakfast, and we had our first tattie scone in Scotland and it was delicious.

The hotel is located on a hill slope in the outskirts of Portree, with a nice view. The natural surroundings and the quiet atmosphere are an advantage. The hotel provides cabin accomodation, the cabins are small but new and well equipped.

It was a hidden gem on skye. Close enough to Portree but with spectacular view of the surrounding area. We were able to buy groceries in Portree and enjoy a lovely meal with all the supplied kitchen equipment taking in the views.
