I would appreciate a better orientation system in hotel and also some more cosy chair in the room.

It is an excellent location to go into the park. The owner is nice enough and served a decent breakfast.

That corner of Czechia has been described as the lowest point of the country in elevation, and also in taste. There are numerous shops, all run by Vietnamese, selling the same unbranded shirts, shoes, etc. Anything that was branded was of dubious authenticity. I was caught out a few times as credit cards are generally unknown and ATM's will charge CZK195 (!) per cash transaction. Don't expect a convenience store selling day-to-day items, as the shops I visited focussed mainly on bottled drinks, alcohol and cigarettes. However, the location is simply amazing.

The landscape is truly unique in this part of Europe.
The landscape is truly unique in this part of Europe. Despite some trails being closed because of recent forest fires, there was still plenty hiking. I can't remember my last trip when I went "wow!" multiple times a day. Four days is definitely not enough to take in the sheer beauty of this location. We were there in october and the autumn landscapes felt like living in a painting, superb!

The village itself is rather bleak (many closed hotels and restaurants make it so), but then I did not expect it to be the main point of my stay. It's the Bohemian Switzerland National Park that counts and Hřensko (especially the Mezní Louka part where I stayed) is a very convenient base for a walker like myself.

Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule.
Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule. We were here on closing weekend so it was very busy but we had a great time. We are not in great shale, the hike took us longer than the younger and more fit hikers but the scenery was beautiful and worth the sore legs the next day.

Excellent distinction for those adventurous.
Excellent distinction for those adventurous. The autumn season is just beautiful up in the national park. Unfortunately it was misty and rainy the day we were there. We got to do the boat ride and saw the arch. But the fog limited the iconic images of the arch. Did not get to see anything else on our list. I would recommend staying at least two nights to fully enjoy the hiking, nature and scenery.

Hřensko is a small village, very easy to get around.
Hřensko is a small village, very easy to get around. Although there are many options to eat, thez all serve the same type of cuisine - mostly unhealthy food (svickova, gulas, dumplings); there are very few vegetarian and basically none vegan options for a decent meal. You will get a nice fish at Ceska hospoda and Restaurant U Lipy.
Hrensko is set in a beautiful scenery of the river, rocks and forests, but what disturbes the atmosphere and the genius loci are the cheap clothes/trinkets/tasteless music stands and shops everywhere, focused to cater mainly the German clientelle. The town would do itself a favour if it would rebrand itself and offer some quality traditional Czech or local products/crafts.
This hotel is perfect for a getaway for a group of friends, couples, and families. The interior design was amazing and made it such a cozy spot to chill and have fun. It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, so much so that we didn't end up doing some of our planned hikes in the national parks because the room was too nice. A great base for Saxon Switzerland and especially Bohemian Switzerland national parks. You could get to the place easily from the train station at Schöna and take the ferry across.
There was self check-in which was very easy. The host sent all the information you needed beforehand.
The room gave a cozy feeling of a mountain hut and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is in the center of Hrensko with several restaurants around and close to cycling and hiking routs so the location was perfect.
There were several extra’s that made our stay even better: a free bottle of wine, a smart tv with loads of movies to watch and the permission to check out a bit later.
This place was incredible for us, as we were walking the Malerweg and decided to stop at Hrensko for one nice. The hosts were very attentive they welcomed us with a bottle of sekt and chocolates which made it very comforting after long walks around the area. The check-in was very easy and we were able to wash our clothes and dry them that night since there was also a tumble dryer available. I would definitely recommend!
Really a modern hotel, we stayed for 2 nights in the room and 1 night in the bungalow, i would say if you are only with 2 people a room is more than fine. (Both have smart tv with netflix/youtube)
The location is not to beat right in the national park with easy bus connections if you want to hike in the german side. Restaurant is priced really fairly with wonderfull food and good 🍺
It was perfect. The room was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view of the mountains. The room was also surprisingly large and it was lovely and quiet. I thought the free breakfast was a lovely touch and extremely generous. The hotel has many great facilities and I can see how it’s extremely family friendly with what it has on offer. I’d definitely recommend and stay again.
Very close to the German border, so you can easily reach both the Bohemian and the Saxon Switzerland, or even Dresden for a day trip. The hotel is clean and quiet, nicely furbished. You can have dinner on the ground floor or in nearby restaurants (Hrensko is very small). The car park is well organized (each car gets its own designated place for the whole stay).
The hotel is completely new renovated. The opened it just one week before the corona breakout. So they unfortunately had a really tough start, but that’s the reason everything looks brand-new. The stuff is really nice and helpful and the breakfast was really good. You can park your car directly in front of the house for free. I would definitely go there again!
Super nice place for hiking and comfortable accomodation after. Kitchen include all for cooking, even oil and salt (this was important for me, because I trawel with my 6-year daughter). Nights was quiet, bads and blankets really comfortable. Cleannes - top notch. And very frendly owner. I will definitely accommodate here next time. Thank you very much.
👍 Nice Nice Nice , the behavior of Hotel staff is 100% Friendly , second day they changed Hairdryer because we have curly hair , we didn't ask it but they had paid attention , it is respectful . Room was clean and comfortable .
Great little hotel with a nice history! We arrived later in the evening where the hotel reveals it's beauty at night with the nice light settings. Very good starting point for some hiking tours. We recommend the stay here!
Vere nice hotel for a great price. Breakfast was great and also dinner in the restaurant was very tasty. Booking the wellness is definitely good choice. Great location easy to reach with the car. Free parking available.
Very nice location. There are many trails to nice places starting just near the hotel, also bus station is nearby as well. Wifi is good and room is very clean. Breakfast with meat, eggs, fruits and fresh bakery.
Very good place to visit Bohemian Switzerland.Big rooms with comfortable bed and everything you need for nice stay. Very good breakfast and excellent restaurant in the evening. Attentive staff.
Located in the forest - it’s a short way to the gorges (you can still visit one part though it’s closed from Hrensko due to the fires). Beautiful area. Good restaurant.
