Likinia Hotel, hotel in Monemvasia

Inside the castle of Monemvasia, in Chrysafitissa Square, Likinia is a stone-built hotel featuring traditional accommodations with unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea.

Our room was a good size and had a small peekaboo view of the sea. Breakfast was the most delicious we had on a 3 week trip! Bed was comfy and shower had great water pressure.

New hotel in the area, very nice location and great views. The room is pretty small, developers probably wants to squeeze as many rooms per building as they can. On a plus side- AC worked, comfortable beds and super clean. Very friendly ladies at the check-in. It is only 10 min drive from Monemvasia. Overall good stay.

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!

Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

If you want to visit beautiful Monemvasia, don't hesitate to book at Petrino guesthouse. Perfect location to visit Monemvasia. A lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Nice balcony with beautiful view on the rock. Very friendly owner (small family owned hotel). Parking in front of the hotel. Room is very cosy and all you need (quite big, clean, ... ), aircon works very good. They clean the room every day. Price/Quality the best deal during our 14days trip in the Peloponnesos.

Idyllic place to relax. Intimate and clean space with a beautiful view of the sea. Ideal for relaxation. A few minutes by car you are at the castle of Monemvasia after the tour, the evening in the castle is full of life, perfect for enjoying cocktails or food. What I liked the most was that Neapolis, Elafonisos, Gytheio and Sparti are nearby destinations, so I combined many activities together. I highly recommend it and we will definitely choose it again. Thank you!

Great personal, great location (and a view), great pool, awesome (rich) breakfast. The rooms were a bit small for 4 people nad the little terrase in front of the room way to little for 4 people. However, all the guests get to be at the poolside all the time where you have all the space in the world :) The hotel is very near (1,8km) Monemvasia, with cheap supermarket, bakery and other shops in the middle.

The hotel sent someone to greet us at the castle gates, she was lovely, showed us where anything we could need in the castle was on our way to the hotel itself (as well as providing us with 5% discount in the local wine store, with local produce). The bed was exceptional, comfort as well as the beautiful view through the enclosed balcony while lying on it. Shutters provide a true blackout experience.

If you do not want to stay on Monemvasia itself, this is a great place to stay. We had a perfect view of the island from our room, which was clean and comfortable. The staff at the hotel was helpful and the breakfast was good. It was easy to drive the two minutes over to the island, park, and walk the 20 minutes into the ancient town for dinner.

Charming, beautiful, and traditional hotel in a quiet location yet close to everything. Old world feel with modern amenities like AC, power outlets, clean linens, and friendly staff. Monemvasia has many steps so be prepared. Pay the 5 euros for a porter to carry your luggage from the main gate to/from the hotel. Best 5 euros you’ll ever spend!

The room was very comfortable and the location was very convenient. Street parking in front of the hotel was readily available when we stayed there in late-April. The breakfast buffet was very good with all the usual items for a Greek hotel breakfast: yogurt, honey, olives, meat, cheese, eggs, various breads, etc.

Excellent location within the castle, close to everything (shops, restaurants, the beach, the historic section at the top of the hill). Spacious, clean and well equipped. If it's important to you, do inquire about the rooftop patio, as one is much larger and has a better view than the other.
