The room size was "very" generous. The room was tired looking, chairs sunk down, etc. It did have nice bathroom, but the door stuck as you opened/closed it. Minor problem to resolve we thought. I was very surprised to get an email from the hotel prior to arriving asking me to cancel my Booking reservation and book directly with the hotel. That does not at all seem right.

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

We visited during a festival of traditional Scottish culture...
We visited during a festival of traditional Scottish culture. One experience offered that we went to was wonderful - a family-oriented Ceilidh at the Storytelling Centre. This meant we spent time with people who live in Edinburgh. Living in a neighborhood meant we shopped in small local places to buy things instead of going into touristy places along the Royal Mile. The Mile itself is full of history and has a great energy, but don't miss stepping outside of that road! We ate at a local Italian restaurant and enjoyed Sunday roasts at another local eatery. We walked everywhere - for hours - uphill and down and up again. However, trams and buses are available as well. The National Portrait Museum is well-worth a visit for the building as well as the paintings!

There is so much to do.
There is so much to do. We looked forward to walking the Royal Mile and visiting the Castle and Arthur's Seat, all of which lived up to expectations. John Knox House and St. Giles Cathedral were both rewarding and well worth the visit. We were also able to attend a ceilidh nearby, which we loved. There is so much to do and we only had two nights so we had to make the most of it.

A charming city with loads to do and see for young and old! I regret not having planned more time there during my trip.... from a seamless commute from the airport to the city, to the bustling city centre on arrival and the super-friendly people and spectacular scenery, a great city with so much history and allure. I'll be back one day, guaranteed!

beautiful city, a delight. stayed in Haymarket, so close to most thongs. great museums. I was looking forward to seeing some plays, but I could not find any. I noticed no plays for months, only musicals or bands. very sad. the concert at Usher Hall was great, though, with a NZ guest conductor.
I wish I came here when I could still spend days walking a hilly city.

All good for us.
All good for us. It is hilly in some parts very steep but although no issue for us may be for some.
Great parks. Many bars, restaurants and cafes nearly all with outside tables (we were lucky with great weather)
The open top bus is well worth £16 for an all day ticket.
Highly reccommend.

A very cultured city - probably the most imperial of the UK. OMG - it's pricey though! This brief visit (for airport) allowed me some time to visit 2 exhibitions at the National Gallery of Scotland, which pleased me greatly

Breakfast buffet was more than ample. GF options and best organised I have ever seen for guests with any food intolerances. Very practical and well organised hotel. Staff very professional and efficient. Great base for exploring Leith or for going into Edinburgh city centre. Family, couple, people on business friendly. It ticks all the boxes. Bright and airy. Would not hesitate to recommend!
Edinburgh is very expensive so finding a good place to stay in transit is a challenge. This hotel is on the main airport bus route into the city centre but only 15 minutes from the airport with excellent bus links. There is a busy bar restaurant in the hotel and other restaurants and shops nearby.
Hotel is in a great location to get around Edinburgh City Centre. Bar area really nice and not what I expected. Buffet breakfast had good continental choices and vegan options too.
