I would like to warn people of a store in Downtown Cancun. It is called Supermanzana 28. Busses stop there. It is across the way from the Walmart Cancun. The Supermanzana 28 is a large store with souvenirs, liquor, jewelry, bags and many other items. BEWARE this store! They are scam artists. They tell you one price and when you purchase it they charge a different price. They hope you don't notice it. A bottle of Mayan liquor that we like should have cost about $13 to less than $20 USD or form $270 to $400 Mx pesos. We were told that the liquor would cost us $270 Mx pesos and we noticed that they charged the credit card about 1000% more than they told us it cost. We researched this store afterwards and saw that everyone advised people to stay away because they seem to scam everyone. STAY AWAY FROM SUPERMANZANA 28. Everything was perfect and served as they promised. Special thanks for our butler, Adrian. He made all reservations to all 5 restaurants and hole facility activities. Everything was going smoothly and enjoyable food and shows. Every day, Adrian sent messages to remind us about reservations and activities, just to make sure we're not missing anything in facility. I do not like these kind of overbuilt massive tourist destinations. I did only stop over one night on my way to Belize. I would use it as a stop over and then move from Cancun to visit the Yucatán Peninsula, north and south, as I did some 20 years ago. Cancun has beautiful beaches, great for small kids and is luxurious and very touristic. If you like more of a local touch, i recommend Playa del carmen. We stayed at both places (5 nights playa and 2 nights cancun). If you are in to beaches, cancun is the place to be. The dining options however are less authentic.Guest review byJasnaSuriname
