Rome is filled with historic places that span centuries. The city is rich with art of all types. Decorative church are everywhere. The Romans certainly know how to eat. We had some wonderful meals, thanks to some recommendations from our hotel staff. Our trip was centered around the Caravaggio art exhibit. It was great.

Beautiful city. I didn't think we'd like it so much. The beginning of May is a great time to visit! Spring is in full swing and it's not too hot. I didn't know it was such a huge city with so many places to see.

What I like about Rome is that you do not have to go to the major tourist sites to experience the history of the city. There are many places to go that are off the beaten path that have their own charm and history. A good tip is to go to Rome around the 2nd week of January to get some great deals on quality leather goods and clothing. It is colder then, but you don't have to deal with such large crowds.

Walking around the city is easy.
Walking around the city is easy. Many places to eat, drink, etc. The history of the city is amazing, to think many of those ancient buildings were there since the time of Christ is mind blowing.
We went to the Borghese museum, highly recommend, but get there early if you don't get tickets in advance. The Vatican was special, need to do a private tour.

Briefly - Rome was overcrowded (due to new pope's election), unfortunately most (if not all) monuments were surrounded by construction walls which spoiled any good views on them. Downtown's tourist business are "occupied" by bangladeshi italians, which fact I don't judge, but one is being agressively offered whatever touristic stuff you can imagine and more.

Rome is an exciting city with lots to see and do but unfortunately everyone knows that now so even in May it felt rather overcrowded at the popular attractions. The food on the other hand I can highly recommend. We haven’t had a bad meal so far in Rome. In fact it feels a bit like Japan in that you get the feeling that Italians would be too proud of their food culture to serve you something inferior. We also discovered another little gem in Rome in the lovely little night scene of Rione Monti. A quieter version of Trastevere

Quiet, traditional hotel close to the colosseum, great staff, amazing breakfast, Francesca is amazing in proving help and replying to all questions. I am a frequent visitor to Rome for many years (twice a year), and usually stay at Trastevere or Campo dei Fiori, this time for new years I decided to stay at Lancelot, also because I am a travel designer specialist in Italy, and I am always testing new hotels for my clients. Lancelot will be in my list of hotels.
The location was perfect for me. It's my favorite part of Rome and the hotel is so convenient and easily accessible.. The staff were all friendly and really helpful. The breakfast was excellent and I loved being able to have a cappucino made for me (rather than out of a machine like many other "included" breakfasts I've had in italy). Having a kettle in the room was a nice surprise as well. This will be my 'go to" hotel in Rome from now on!
If you are a tourist visiting Rome, this is probably the best location you can get. Besides that, whole hotel is a 5 star experience. Very cosy, pleasant, clean. Staff very polite, they are always smiling and greeting you, and you feel very welcome and nice. Reception staff very helpfull. Room was big, spacious, perfectly clean.
Will definitly come back.
New hotel. Safe area. Comfortable bed. Efficient service. Fairly convenient location - near to the Reppublica metro station (for accessing other parts of Rome) and within walking distance to drag your luggage across the stone-paved streets from the Roma Termini train station (for accessing other parts of Italy).
With my long association with Booking.com, this is the first time I felt let down. I was forced to like the stay, as I had booked for eight nights at this hotel, to use Rome as the base of my travel around Italy. The only thing I liked was the proximity of the hotel to Roma Termini train station.
