Located in Trento's historic center, Hotel America is 5 minutes' walk from Castle Buonconsiglio and the Cathedral and 656 feet from Trento Train Station.

Great location, short walk from the train station and city center. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. We booked a very spacious room with a great view. Very clean room with all the commodities needed. The breakfast buffet had an abundant choice. Highly recommend this family owned hotel. They obviously take great pride in the service they offer. We will be back.

Set in the suburbs of Trento, Al Marinaio Hotel Garni is just off the A22 motorway offering quick access to the city center. It features free parking.

The room and balcony are spacious. The bed and pillow were comfortable as well. The breakfast had a good selection. It was confusing at first, I had to ring a bell to gain access, then take an elevator to the 2nd floor for reception. The garage is underground and accessible from the inside as well and very secure. The staff was friendly and very informative.

FAQs about hotels in Trento

History, Dolomites, Vineyards and Castles

Trento is a town defined by its closeness to the Dolomites, bordered by the vineyards along the banks of the Adige River, and signposted by castles that once defended the road leading towards the Alpine passes of Brenner and Reschen. Though that gives some hints, it doesn’t unveil the rich mix of Alpine, Germanic and Mediterranean cultures that represent the cornerstone of its identity.

It is believed that it was founded as ‘Trent’ by Gauls in the 4th century BC, becoming ‘Tridentum’ under Roman rule. After the fall of the empire and centuries of dispute, the region knew prosperity under the rule of several Prince-Bishops, and was later integrated to the Austrian South Tyrol, until its final incorporation to the Kingdom of Italy after World War I. It boasts nowadays one of the highest qualities of life in Italy, while the University of Trento ranks among the country’s best.

The city’s historic centre shows the typical cultural pattern that characterises the area. Buonconsiglio Castle overlooks the city from the top of a rock, while the cathedral and Piazza Duomo shouldn’t be missed. In the Old Town's narrow streets you’ll find some of the most picturesque hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in Trento.

Trento is a little gem in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. It’s quiet and not overrun with tourists. The main piazza is dominated by the mediaeval cathedral and not far away is the Castello di Buonconsiglio. Most of the historical centre is pedestrian friendly. Love it.

An interesting and historic city, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Location of a major event in the history of Christianity in Europe, but offering plenty to interest those who want to hike, shop or dine out.

Trento is a very lively city with an impressive dome, an old castello, various pallaces, a modern museum of natural science (mostly directed to children from 5 - 15), many good restaurants and a good site for going to beautiful landscapes and for various activities..

    ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! We were here for a week-long busy congress event, so we didn't have much time to 'be tourists', but we did get to go inside many of the buildings and galleries as part of the congress. Really gorgeous city, lovely bars, and the amazing cable car, Lake Caldonazzo and waterfalls (Orrido di Ponte Alto) not far away.

A great modern apartment with lots of comfort and amenities! The key handover went smoothly, Giovanna waited for us, handed over the key and explained everything to us. She was always available during our one-week vacation, e.g. for hotel tips or reservations etc.. During our stay the towels were changed once and the apartment was tidied up, very nice. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the city center of Trento, but there are also good bus connections. Thank you for a wonderful week's vacation, we will be back.
