Great location. I wanted to visit the thermal spa and there is a sort of tunnel between the hotel and the spa, right next door. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Hotel was beautiful, and they had an elevator, which I needed because of a leg injury. This town is also a little gem. . Loved filling my water bottles with the healing Luso water, along with the locals, who brought large jugs to the fountain in the village center. Also loved walking in the magical Buçaco Forest that is very close by. I would definitely stay here again!
Surrounded by forests, this hotel is located in a historic manor only 2133 feet from the center of Luso. Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool with sun-lounger terrace and free Wi-Fi.

One of the best hotels I stayed. The manager of the hotel Dr. Nuno Alegre published the newspaper containing humorized history of Portugal and the hotel. He told us about archeological excavations in Luso he made and interesting founding. Bravo!
In the Bussaco National Forest, this 5-star hotel occupies the hunting palace of the last Portuguese kings. Its elegant restaurant offers a range of exclusive Bussaco wines.

We loved our time at Buçaco!! The beauty of the buildings, the surrounding gardens and the forest it is nestled is almost beyond belief. We really loved being able to sit on the patio and take in Colaco's gorgeous tile art or have a few cocktails in the lounge in the evening and enjoy the the stunning carvings and the gorgeous hand painted wallpaper. Buçaco is a feast for the senses and a glimpse into Portugal's rich history.
Located on the slopes of Buçaco Mountain, this hotel is only 0.6 mi from the Buçaco Forest and is a 2-minute walk from Luso’s thermal spa. It has a restaurant.

Everything! We were so welcomed by the lovely owners Maria & Oscar. They were very helpful recommending the 2 best restaurants nearby & building fires just for us where we sipped the wine that we brought & coffee in the morning.
Our room was spacious, well appointed & had the best bedding that we’ve had so far. The bathroom was huge & everything was sparkling clean. The house is absolutely charming & filled with memories of their life here. Breakfast was amazing served by their lovely helper in their dining room very elegantly. We were offered Eggs, cheeses, meats, yogurt with a delicious platter of fruit, sooo many choices of the best breads & pastries, jams & butter with our tea & coffee. A feast! We just wished that we had booked more nights with them. Thank you dear Maria & Oscar!
We stayed in Luso for two nights and enjoyed our time.
We stayed in Luso for two nights and enjoyed our time. It is remote so we did not feel as though we needed more time there than we had but we did visit the local spa which we enjoyed and we had the best meal all trip in town!
Definitely worth stopping in at.

The town is well worth a visit.
The town is well worth a visit.
It was a shame we didn't have more time fo the thermal baths - they're not open on a Sunday.
Buçaco forest is magical, make lots of time to go there and spend at least a full day.
If you can stay in the Palace, it is well worth it.

The Bussaco Castle was beyond our expectations, the hotel staff were amazing, a representative showed us the lobby area and the amenities prior to our room arrival after our check in. We had a fantastic room (The Queen room). There are several activities to do such the visit to the convent/museum, the shop, and long walking trails in the forest, this was an incredible stay for us to celebrate a very special event, we had dinner at the hotel and the dinner was superb, the bartender knows how to make great mix drinks, the entire staff in the hotel were welcoming, friendly and courteous. This castle is truly one of a kind and highly recommend it to my friends!

Located in the heart of the Serra do Bussaco, Palace Hotel do Bussaco is an excellent example of Manueline-Gothic architecture. Its richly decorated corridors feature antique furnishings, large paintings and traditional Portuguese glazed tiles. Bussaco National Forest is wonderful.

This is a 3 star hotel in a beautiful bldg which is quite dilapidated overall. Elevator not working, plug missing from bathtub, so no bath. Bathroom spacious, but again, worn down over several decades. Single pane windows meant draft and cold in Jan. Hot water radiant heating not quite up to it. Fantastic breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Fairly easy to find from Mealhada. Nice, but dated, spacious living room. No wifi in room.
The property is well located in the center of Luso, about 10 minutes walking from the bus stop from/to Coimbra and very convenient to go hiking in the Bussaco forest. It is very clean and the staff is nice. The breakfast buffet had freshly cooked scrambled eggs and the staff made espresso coffee on demand. The facilities, decor and services are basic, but that was reflected in the price, so it was good value for money.
