Rooms are clean and spacious. Really appreciated having no carpets. Beds are super comfortable.
We stayed in early May. The property has a heated pool which was great for our kids - their favorite activity.
Breakfasts are nice and a great advantage, especially for families with kids.

We stayed at this hotel for our son's wedding at the Bernardaus. We had 4 of the 18 rooms. I just wish more family and friends would have stayed at this same location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of space throughout the property for our group to gather and relax and spend time together. The Innkeeper, Ben was generous and genuinely warm, going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed including special greetings from Trooper the property dog made it even more homey. It was a wonderful experience and we're so grateful to have had such a welcoming place to stay during such a special time.

A good place to stay if you’re planning to do things in La Fortuna. The location is very convenient however, it is not as in the jungle as you might expect. It is right in town, very convenient for tours and restaurants. It is in a very touristy area.

Very clean budget minded motel. At first, I couldn’t get into my room, so the owner had to show up. The cleaner had bolted the door. Then I found there was absolutely no soap or amenities in the bathroom. They were brought to me the next day about 1. Very nice lady but this wasn’t acceptable. They supplied bottles of water and coffee which was nice. Extremely convenient location and the folks at the market next door were so kind. The pool was clean but I didn’t use it

The drive to the property and the excellent team at check in
Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot. A highlight for us was the hike around Lobos Point where the wildlife is abundant and the scenery breathtaking. Eating out was pricey but we stayed at Big Sur campground and cabins where we able to cater for ourselves. During April the roads were reasonably quiet, making the drive along the coast super easy.

Big Sur was a lovely place to visit.
Big Sur was a lovely place to visit. I hike a lot in Mt Tam area because of the views. But the Ewoldsen trail at Julia Pfeiffer Burns state park was a real gem. If you have to hike one trail in Big Sur, I would do this one. Nice meandering trail with a great view on top.
Pretty remote with no cell service so be prepared to just enjoy the moment and the scenary.

Beautiful sceneries driving down highway 1 to get to the lodge. Once there, loved the location (surrounded by large trees and forest) and the room's layout. Its a shame there was no internet connection, and no television in the room. So nothing much to do after dinner.

Big Sur is absolutely stunning.
Big Sur is absolutely stunning. You must have a car to get around, and wifi is very limited. We stopped at a restaurant along the road that had no wifi either. I would absolutely return. It's a great place to unplug and connect with nature.

What isn’t there to like about Big Sur?
What isn’t there to like about Big Sur? Beautiful forests and oceans, lots of hiking opportunities, and just all-around peaceful, at least it was in November. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all for a while and chill out.

Big Sur was my first visit. Loved the area and the hikes.
Big Sur was my first visit. Loved the area and the hikes. Opted for a lodge rather than an Airbnb to make sure to change our rooms or at least provide clean towels every day. No towel racks in the room so difficult to dry towels and reuse. We are four in our stay and this was a deal breaker. Will not stay at this inn next time.

The premises are amazing, the true star of the stay. Amidst a beautiful forest with giant trees. The walks around the camping grounds and to the restaurant are beautiful. Just take the car out of the driveway and your nearby all the main sights of Big Sur, Pfeiffer beach, Big Sur Bakery, hiking spots etc.
Amazing location in the heart of Big Sur valley. Hikes from the doorstep. Good restaurant food. Bonus to find that the room with 2 double beds actually has a separate bedroom for one of the beds.
