The continental breakfast was almost extravagant in its array, given how few guests were at the hotel in the off season. The room was amply sized and the bed quite comfortable. The blackout shutters were terrific. Front desk spoke no English but were very helpful.

Location is great. The bed is really comfortable. Wifi strong. Shower has good water pressure and good size. A/C makes room very comfortable. Grounds beautiful. But, the most outstanding is the staff. I never got her name but the hostess is the most accommodating hotel person I think I've ever encountered. And the breakfast is a very good value.

The location, the staff (the woman at the reception was very kind and nice) and it was good value. For five, a little bit small, but it had all the necessary for our stay. The parking just in front of your room was great.

Set in a quiet, rural location but still within a very short drive of Sarlat town centre. The hotel was our family's base from which to explore the area & we found it ideally placed with the main roads accessible within a few minutes drive.
All parts of the hotel were incredibly clean & well maintained. Strong and reliable WiFi with good mobile phone reception. Breakfast was excellent & well worth paying the extra for. The owners were very helpful & responded immediately to any requests we made.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to others and would definitely return for a further stay.

The owners and staff are wonderful. Love the balcony rooms, and the location is perfect and a bit away from the more crowded areas. There are several restaurants very close by, along with a Carrefour City, Boulangerie, and tabac.

The hotel director, Christine, was absolutely incredible! She was so kind, spoke very good English, and had incredible knowledge of the area and great recommendations. We originally weren’t going to partake in breakfast because of a food allergy, but the hotel was able to handle it, and breakfast was one of our favorite parts of everyday. There is also a beautiful pool on site. The location by downtown Sarlat was great. It was so easy to access great restaurants and shops.

The town is lovely, the people are very nice and it is easy to walk everywhere in town. A car is necessary to get out of town to see a few of the many caves and castles in the area but just being in Sarlat is wonderful!

Sarlat-la-Caneda was fabulous!
Sarlat-la-Caneda was fabulous! We wish we'd had more time to explore the area. The paleolithic caves we visited and museum of pre-history in Les Eysies de Tayac were amazing and the area is so beautiful. We would love to go back again and see more of it. Also the food is amazing and the staff at all the restaurants where we ate were friendly, helpful, and service was terrific.

Sarlat is a wonderfully beguiling medieval city whose streets are simply a joy to wanter. In season, it is swamped with visitors--apparently two million visit each year. Off season it is charming. In the dead of winter it remains beautiful but most of the restaurants shut down so options will be fewer.

Sarlat is truly a hidden gem of the beautiful Dordogne, a destination that captures the very essence of France. This historical town offers an incredible blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and exceptional cuisine, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic French experience.
In the summer, Sarlat comes alive with energy. The town and its surroundings are brimming with activities, from exploring magnificent castles to visiting prehistoric cave paintings, and for those looking to cool off, the region is dotted with water spots perfect for a refreshing dip.
Nestled in a lush, green valley, the surroundings are as stunning as the town itself. We recommend spending at least 4 to 5 days here, but honestly, we could have spent the entire summer!
Sarlat is an absolute MUST DO in France!

A historic town with a great centre.
A historic town with a great centre. Modern shops, bars and coffee shops in abundance alongside a great selection of restaurants. We were there for their Christmas market and it was well organised and great range of stalls and food options. Lots of narrow and steep streets but accessible aswell at either end. We had a lovely meal in the old market area on the first night and a takeaway Chinese the next. Awful weather meant we didn't explore the area any further.

An excellent location, just in the middle of Sarlat old town, next to all the amazing restaurants. The apartment is spot-less, tastily decorated and its balcony is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of high-quality French wine.
The hosts are simply lovely and they have shown us where one can park the car for free, which are some places where one can swim in Dordogne and so on.
As for Sarlat La Caneda : This is the place to stay to explore the Perigord area.
The hotel is up a steep incline from the main road...(much of Sarlat is) The location is fantastic. The room was up several flights of stairs and there is no elevator, not uncommon but just be aware. Believe we got the last room available so it had an extra room we did not need but it gave us a little more space. Liked the built-in little desks. We used them to plan our visit. Front desk staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful.
A 3 minute walk to get the best croissants in town. Perfect location to walk all around Sarlat-la-Canéda. Easy to park and get out of town to explore. Lots of castles, historic towns, Lascaux, Roque St Christophe and canoeing on the Dordogne all within a 30 minute drive. Great restaurants in Sarlat-la-Canéda. The host met us at the door. She was very helpful and able to answer questions and offer help during our stay.
