One unmissable stop along the Via Appia is the Church of Domine Quo Vadis, where, according to tradition, Jesus met Saint Peter as he was leaving Rome, prompting Peter to turn back, and they returned together to face martyrdom. This site is a cradle of European culture and thought, and I truly recommend everyone to visit it and reflect on its meaning. The Via Appia is usually quiet, with few tourists, making it a perfect place for a peaceful walk and a moment of rest. You can get there by taking bus 118.

Absolutely recommend Rome over Paris or even New York.
Absolutely recommend Rome over Paris or even New York. It's up there with London, and we have lived and worked in both London and Rome. The public transport is pretty good but I wouldn't take a car any more because the number of cars seems to have doubled in 20 years as has the number of tourists due to the change of pope and the jubilee year.
You can find excellent non-touristy places to eat but you have to look hard for them. It's very noisy, graffitti-laden, noisy, not-too-expensive, full of helpful locals, noisy and I love it.

Rome is a wonderful city to wander around.
Rome is a wonderful city to wander around. It is very friendly and th food is great almost everywhere. We found public transport readily accessible also. I’m May the weather was warm but it wasn’t too overcrowded. The Vatican and Sistene Chapel were reopened and though busy everything was orderly with our pre booking

If you like history, Rome is full of ancient buildings.
If you like history, Rome is full of ancient buildings. People there are generally friendly, but tourist flooded all the attractions. Main attractions are very accessible by public transportation. Taxi fare is reasonable, but you pay for the traffic jam as well. Unless you have mobility issues, walking is probably the best way to see the attarctions.

This was the best hotel in Italy we have visited out of 7. Very clean, comfortable and with good vibe. Great outdoor swimming pool - we loved it after hot day. But the best was customer service. We have left a wallet and they helped us a lot and sent the wallet back. Location was good, not far from the metro station and when we used taxi from the city centre was not expensive. We had a very good time.
The location of the Hotel being walking distance from Rome Termini train station. The room was clean with the most comfortable bed and pillows we had throughout Italy. Staff were very friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was very nice with a range of cold meats, breads, croissants fruit, cereal and cakes. The location was also an easy walk to all the sites. Close to nice restaurants too.
The service was excellent; actually Next level. Not just the hotel welcome & what it had to offer, but assistance with our next venture in Italy. It really helps sell Rome (even when 38 degrees🥵)when you have staff like this at Viminale. If we ever go back to Rome, it’ll be staying here purely for the service we received.
Fabulous hotel in great position in Rome. The most comfortable beds in Italy. No I am not kidding!! Great roof top bar/ breakfast area. Fabulous breakfast. What else, great shower too and product!! What more could you ask for. It's a perfect holiday right here!!
