Phuket town is a great place to visit, you can walk and reach different places without always needing to rely on taxis. There is a little shopping mall as well as several museums and crafts shops to visit. Some places bring you back to forgotten times with heritage buildings and open air feeling. There are also many shops selling clothes, and accessories or gift shops also cafes and sweets shops of all kinds; restaurants of all cuisines can be found in old town as well.Guest review bydorotheaThailand - Review score

Phuket is a much larger Island than I expected.
Phuket is a much larger Island than I expected. We stayed for more than a week at Karon beach (the West side of the island) and took public or private transport to all our activities. It takes a lot longer to get around (especially at rush hours) than we expected (sometimes more than an hour to cross the island). We also spent time in Ao Nang on the East side of Phang Nga bay (definitely recommended) and one night on our way back to the airport in Phuket Old town. The Sunday night street market in Old Town is great and gives you a chance to sample the local food. We recommend doing horseback riding on the beach, the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, where you can feed and wash the elephants (very personal experience with the elephants), and numerous island snorkel tours. The beaches are great and the Phi Phi islands are beautiful (although crowded).Guest review bytimampeUnited States - Review score

The room was new and wde and furnished in a very nice style. There is not much natural light (the view s on the reception area) but the artificial lighthening is good. Definately the best in the three weeks I spent travelling around Thailand. We couldn’t find a bed and balcony as good as it. Definately our most enjoyable and favourite stay for our trip.
