The location was easy to find and right in the center of town near the market square. Room was large, very clean and the staff was lovely. Breakfast was delicious too in their quaint dining area! Highly recommend!

Upon arrival, we got checked in and the gentleman at reception was very friendly and spoke excellent English. He walked us through a number of restaurant dining options. The hotel has a covered parking garage but we opted to park in a provided spot out front, very convenient. The hotel is a bit of a hike into town but nicely located for tranquility. We opted for the nearby country club/golf course and throughly enjoyed it. The room was large, comfy and with a very nice sized balcony that overlooked the next door forest. Breakfast was your typical large German continental style, good and filling.

    We had a wonderful time exploring Germany's largest town...

    We had a wonderful time exploring Germany's largest town square, with its arcades, shops and other attractions. There were also open-air concerts taking place in the Kurhaus event location. It's also a great base to explore the southern Black Forest from. Freudenstadt will also be co-hosting the state garden show in 2025 (together with the neighbouring town of Baiersbronn) and so we plan to return!

    Freudenstadt was much nicer than I'd expected.

    Freudenstadt was much nicer than I'd expected. Lots of pedestrian streets, streetside cafes and shops. A huge central square with play features and landmarks. The location was great for exploring the northern part of the Black Forest.

    A beautifully clean Black Forest Town, built around a large central square. Plenty of restaurants and bars, and shops (though quite expensive!), and a wonderful central area of grass, water fountains (for children to play in), and a 'sand and slide' kids play area too.

    Freudenstadt is a good base for exploring the river valleys in northern Black Forest. Nowhere is too far, for example Baden Baden about 45 mins away. City feels like a safe place, the central square, said to be biggest in Germany, has a number of restaurants and a small brewery, Very pleasant place to end the day. There are all the usual supermarkets: REWE, Lidl, Aldi. Plenty of service stations. Huge parking under town square. Everything very new, town was destroyed by French artillery in '45.

    Charming village with lot of dining options; endless hiking routes possible for young and old through the famous black forest; not too crowded like some other more popular desitnations in the black forest area. It was perfecf for our 4 day stay and daily hiking trips with young kids

    A beautiful quiet town.

    A beautiful quiet town. Picturesque square with fountains and beautiful flower arrangements this time of year (end August). Try the Brauhaus in the main square. Great beer, great food, highly recommended.

    Nice hotel in the Black Forest. The beds were super comfortable. There is a nice pool but you have to walk through the corridor to get to the sauna/steam room area. The restaurant is lovely with good traditional dishes and breakfast was excellent. The receptionist gave us advice on where to go and we had a really lovely walk in the forest.
