The staff was fine, the hotel is, in my opinion, overpriced. There was no spa and you could get hotels with one in close surrounding. There is an all night check in, but that can be arranged for other properties as well. The whole place seemed in need of renovation. Walkable but not too close to the train station. Decent breakfast.
This hotel enjoys a quiet yet central location in the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just one km (half a mile) from the Olympiaschanze ski jump and the main railway station.

Very comfortable room. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They allowed us to check in early which was greatly appreciated as we had flown in to Munich on an all night flight and then drove to Garmish. Incredible view from our room.

This hotel was simply delightful - both charming and upscale, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The family suite was just perfect for us and the staff's prompt attention to our requests - including last minute dinner reservations and a car let - were most appreciated. For a personalized stay in quaint surrounds, I cannot recommend a better choice.

At the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the country’s top ski resorts. The Bavarian style of its Alpine chalets includes beautiful flowers lining every balcony, and colourful frescoes adorning the outsides of houses.
The varied skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding Alps is based mainly on blue and red runs. To ski on the Zugspitze glacier you take a train up to the mountain then a cable car down to the slopes. The summit itself offers magnificent views of the valleys below, provided you’re lucky enough to get a break in the clouds.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a former host of the Winter Olympics and the World Alpine Ski Championships. It also has a ski jump that forms part of the world cup of that sport. In summer hiking is the most popular activity and a lengthy route leads up to King’s House on Schachen, a supposed castle that looks more like a house.
It was built for Ludwig II, the eccentric king behind the region’s most impressive castle – Neuschwanstein to the north-west of Garmisch. The road between them passes by Oberammergau, famous for its 10-yearly Passion Plays.
Accommodation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Booking.com includes 4-star hotels near the train station, traditional guest houses near Partnach Gorge, and cheap apartments with parking.
Didnt explore much the city itself, mainly go for skiing.

Zugspitze is great place for ski. The zugspitzbahn is just 100 meters away from the DB bahn with clear signs.
Ski rental is available on mountain. The beginner slide is a little too steep for true beginner (especailly for snowboarder), but after few attempts and few falls one could enjoy the slope and magnificant view.

Garmisch - Partenkirchen is a nice and convenient ski resport. It's also a great base to explore by car, or by train the area.
Have in mind that the restaurants close their kitchen relatively early, so, don't delay your dinner. Also, during off-season several of them are closed.
Partnachklamm gorge is really impressive.

A nice town at the bottom of a ski resort, featuring a cogwheel train that goes all the way to the Zugspitze (though I would recommend getting off at Eibsee and taking the cable car from there, it's faster and also more scenic).
From Burger King at the train station to restaurants from every kitchen I could name, there are loads of dining options available. I was here in March 2025 for skiing, but took a day to hike up the mountain on the langlauf paths, and suspect that this would be a great mountain for hiking in warmer times as well.

A great sized city.
A great sized city. Big enough to keep exploring and small enough to not be overwhelmed or overcrowded.
The resorts are amazing. Public transportation is accessible and easy. The shopping is great. The scenery is outrageously beautiful. There’s a USA base there, although small and the resources aren’t that great.
A great place to use as a base and travel from.
There’s a beautiful park nearby. There’s actually a lot of spring and summer activities like the rivers, parks, and trekking. The food options are good quality. There’s excursions and museums.

Cute and quaint little town very accessible drive to nearby attractions. We spent Christmas here and the town is simply enchanting. There a small Christmas markets and the town is a wonderful little walking area downtown. We went skiing, went to Zugspitze, went to nearby towns and drove to the Neuschwanstein Castle. I recommend having a car! There are tons of restaurants in the town to choose from. Be mindful over Christmas a lot of the stores close on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but many restaurants were also open for Christmas lunch. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Nice German town.
Nice German town. Decent bus connectivity, though the frequency is terrible.
The taxi service would be the worst of all and it seemed that cab drivers have no intention of accepting rides. Only way is to book it through the hotel and it would cost 2 times as much.
That being said, I loved seeing the snow capped mountains all around the town. We visited Zugspitze, Eibsee and Partnach Gorge. All of them a great experience.

Very good location, 2 minutes walk to Garmitch-partenkirchen train station and bus station. Zugspitze train station is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel so very convenient to go to Zugspitze early morning (Strongly recommmended so we can stop by Eibsee lake on the way to Zugspitze and enjoy taking very nice photos at the lake in the morning when there are less people).
Staff were very helpful, friendly. The breakfast was very good.
I will choose this hotel again for my next trip Garmitch-partenkirchen again ^^
Michael, the host was excellent. He was kind, caring and very helpful on what to do and where to go. The room size was excellent with 3 different beds and wood gave and excellent touch to it. The room was decorated beautifully with the fire set up really nicely by Michael. This was in a perfect location in the center of Garmisch and there were many eating and tourist places nearby. Zugspitze and the Partnach Gorge were very close by and very beautiful. All around it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
The room was really big and clean. We stayed in the room with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, and 2 bathrooms. There was plenty of space for 5 people.
Location wise it is right at the entrance to the town of Garmisch Partenkirchen, and it takes 10-15 minutes walking from the hotel to Ludwig Strasse.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a beautiful spot and the location of the hotel is nicely situated, close enough to the main square but a little away, so it's quieter.
