Our stay was only for one night but what a wonderful small hotel to stay at. We enjoyed dinner and our breakfast was delicious! That staff was very attentive to our needs. We recommend this hotel 100%.

Located in the historic market town of Darlington, the newly refurbished Mercure Darlington King's Hotel features 83 bedrooms, free Wi-Fi, and limited, secure, parking with additional charge.

Very poor breakfast, limited selection and a lot of items had run out by 8.45. coffee machine stopped working but no one available to fix it for 15 minutes. Room was fine, clean and comfortable but the safe was broken and only two sachets of coffee, no water, no biscuits.

Darlington is ideally situated for travel to north and south due to its proximity to the A1 and mainline rail station for London and Edinburgh. It is also a short drive to the coast and York moors.

Born and bred in Darlington, however recently moved out of town and wanted to stay locally with my friend as a girls get away. I love Darlington, it’s a canny close knit town, not much about it but it’s got a decent town centre, parks, museum & walks. Nightlife is great too, good range of pubs and restaurants

Darlington is a yet town with very chatty and friendly people. I enjoyed my stay. I stayed in an accommodation very close to the train station and the mall. I didn't really visit a lot of places because I was there for work but I had a nice time

I have been to Darlington a number of times, found it very welcoming and interesting. On this occasion I was passing through in connection with work and chosen for it's location, to make my onward journey the next day easier, due to it's proximity to the M1 and A66.

We chose this hotel for its location since we were visiting family in nearby Darlington, and we were really happy with this choice! It is fairly easily accessible but still very quiet - out in the country side, just what we were looking for. Our room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. To welcome us we found a sample of home-made biscuits in the room, and it was lovely and warm and cosy at all times.

The property was brilliantly turned out, styled beautifully, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed to make our stay really pleasant. The communication with the hosts was easy and with very quick responses. The house is located an easy walk from Darlington Centre, has off street parking which was very convenient.

We have stayed there in the past and it is always good. This time through no fault of the hotel there was a power cut. No electricity from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. We would have eaten in the hotel but went elsewhere had to drive to Darlington. There was no recompense not even a free drink. A bit disappointing.
