Wow, where do I start. The whole experience was amazing. The hotel/Castle is so enchanting. It's very beautiful, the staff are wonderful, so passionate about the building and it's history, guest service exceeded our expectations. The room was great, clean and so peaceful and comfortable. Dining is superb, the meals were plentiful and beautifully cooked.
Try and attend the morning tour before you check out. Very informative and well delivered
We will certainly be staying here again.

Excellent value for money. Breakfast's good, we had one evening meal which was also good. The location is good for the station, and parking was cheap at £2 a day. Hexham is small and the hotel is circa half a mile from town centre attractions
Set on the banks of the North Tyne, in an unrivaled setting overlooking Chester’s Roman Bridge and Hadrian's Wall beyond, this friendly hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and spectacular walking...

The host was fabulous, a great communicator from the get go and stayed in contact throughout the 2 week stay. We LOVED the location!!!! Hexham is perfectly situated to explore Hadrian’s Wall and nearby market towns. We did not have a car and went everywhere by bus or train. We made our meals at home but enjoyed coffee at the local independent cafés, especially the Green Garden. We popped in the Abbey several times, there are many details you could overlook otherwise.
what a wonderful town full of history and nice people .
what a wonderful town full of history and nice people .The property we stayed in was so central we felt like locals from the start .Cant wait to get back and enjoy another stay. Fabulous places to visit but would have been happy just enjoying local hospitality. Attended a concert at Hexham Abbey which was a special experience. Would definitely stay at same venue as it felt so special to us .

The accommodation was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
The accommodation was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The kitchen area looked new and had every facility we needed. It wasn’t very far to walk to the centre of Hexham and there were a good choice of restaurants. Hexham is a very interesting place to visit.

The town centre is charming, with lots of small independent shops and a gorgeous Abbey. It seemed remarkably quiet with little traffic but perhaps this was just because my visit was out of season. There are lots of little pathways between streets and buildings so the best mode of transport is on foot. Best shops - Cogito Books, which had a better selection of books than the Waterstones down the street. And a fabulous artisan baker whose name I can't remember but whose bread I can still taste! The Abbey coffee shop had excellent scones, and its exhibition centre was most interesting.

Beautiful town, steeped in history. Plenty to see and do.
Beautiful town, steeped in history. Plenty to see and do. Very dog friendly town, all shops and cafes seemed to be welcoming to dogs. Large park near the church to walk around. Gorgeous Abbey (but no dogs allowed here). Free parking of various lengths of time, you just need a parking disc for £1.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hexham.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hexham. It was in a great location for exploring Hadrian's wall and the Roman ruins. A trip to Durham went well also. The village is well known to me as I spent many happy times visiting my aunt and uncle here during my childhood. I was very happy to share the area with my husband and our friends. The house was very comfortable and our hostess extremely nice. I wish we had booked the house for longer as I was unwell while there but was very comfortable during the day napping on the couch while everyone else was out exploring. There are no views from the house itself but as the rest of the gang was out and about all day we did not mind that. The houses decor was very eclectic which I enjoyed. The kitchen was well furnished with cookware etc. The coop was just over the bridge which was very handy. I had a bath in the nice big tub which was wonderful. It also had a shower above the tub. There was a walk in shower in the en suite was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

The Sun Inn located in a small village in Hexham. we stayed a night as part of our Hadrian wall hiking trail.
we were greeted by a lovely lady and very clean room and nicely presented with some extra beverage than usual hotel. additional to usual tea and coffee and we had a snack bar, juice and breakfast cereal. it was a nice gesture as they were unable to offer breakfast. As they were unable to offer food the proprietor offered for us to us the lounge, cutlery and crockery for us to use with a takeaway.
Stayed at The county Hotel for three days ( racing at Carlise and Hexham ). The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Hexham. I recommend the full English breakfast , you won't need lunch !!!
Lovely hotel overlooking the river and next to a nice old bridge. The bar area and outside terrace are lovely spaces to enjoy. The staff are friendly and we enjoyed the ambience in the bar.
A lovely hotel in the centre of Hexham. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent with good and efficient service. The room was very comfortable and reasonably quiet.
