Being a relatively small capital city it is easy to find your way around, the roads are excellent and the drivers generally polite. There is a range of excellent and well priced accommodation coupled with excellent restaurants both large and small and covering a wide range of cuisines. If you are into wine then the Barossa and Southern Vales are excellent - easy to access and excellent products. The beaches are also excellent, well up until the algae problem that is. The museum and art gallery on North Tce are worth a visit with parking nearby.

I usually think of Adelaide as a more compact and liveable city than Melbourne, which is no criticism of Melbourne! It's easy to get around the city on the free tram and there were plenty of cultural and sporting events going on during our winter visit. Also close to the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and other wine regions for a day trip. We had a great, relaxing time with family and friends. Cafes and restaurants are plentiful, Rundle Mall is always buzzing, so even a couple of days is worthwhile for a visit.

Adelaide is a lovely city to visit.

Adelaide is a lovely city to visit. Their public transport is awesome - free in the city and only $12 for the whole day, and very extensive. My wife is in a wheelchair and both buses and trams were very accomodating. Pavements not great, but no worse than other cities. Plenty to do and see. Very artistic. Loved the Pigeon and Mall Balls. The buildings are so clean! I think there must be a local by law against dirt! So much choice for food and drinks.

I lost trust in ibis after arriving for a one week stay in Adelaide to find out on the third day, the city were having road works done outside the hotel after midnight each night, we had to change our room as we couldn’t sleep, they knew this work was happening for months and we were not informed until we heard the concrete cutting machines screaming all night, they were happy to take our money without giving us an option.

Room is beautiful, modern, and sleek. If you are looking for a luxury stay in the CBD this is it! Didn’t want to leave!
