The hostel is full of kind and interesting people, my friend and I felt very safe and relaxed :) I would leave my phone in the kitchen for hours and hours at a time and it would always be exactly where I put it :) The staff are so kind and welcoming !

Approach the employees (family members) have towards their guests blew us away. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere made us want to rebook our stay immediately for the next year. Their commitment to providing exquisite dinner and dining experience is unprecedented and is something many other should look up to.
Form the owner and his familly we've learned of the local history and turn of events that lead the island to what it is today. Also we have noticed the staff is multilingual and was able to approach their guest individually and take care of their needs.
Finally it seemed that most of the guests are returning guests, which is definelty a positive sign that not just we (new guests) had the pelasure to experience the warmth and profesional approach but everyone else did as well.

Zavala is a place with mesmerizing sea view, smell and isolated feel. A good place for a good rest. Where to eat? Davor is a restaurant that attracts tourists outside Zavala, and it is a great place, however, I would prefer Skalinada restaurant, hidden nearby the beach, with a nice terrace and great chef. I think it was the most tasteful food I ever tried.

There are no street names only numbers of houses in Zavala, it can be difficult to find your house, ask your owner in advance! There is only one little shop in Zavala, but we enjoyed that it is a quiet place and if you want to do the shopping you can go to Jelsa. There are more small beaches, we liked the one in front of hotel Skalinada it is free, not only for hotel guests, there is a superb bar there, we loved to drink virgin Mojito while sitting in the shade of big olive tree enjoying sea view!

Hard to get to, expensive to get there and back, but this is perfect if you are there to relax. If you are thinking of heading into Hvar Port or perhaps Stari Grad for the night, consider staying elsewhere. You go to Zavala to get away from the these touristy places. It's a relaxing timeout and you do't feel tempted to go to these busy places, you just kick back and enjoy the beautiful beaches and view.AAnonymousAustralia - 10Scored 10

Great for couples who are not interested in partying - scenic and beautiful with welcoming people and fresh tasty food. Water is as clean as can be and if the weather is as good as it was when we were here, then you're in for a treat! Eat at Pizzeria Davor and stay at Guest House Marjan or Skalinada.

This apartmemt has perfect location of great view and not having to climbing the steep hill. The owner is super kind and genuin, trying to help with many things. Breakfast is great as it is not buffet which I do not prefer and it is served as per your order. Zavala is amazing small fishing town with nice small beaches and cozy ambience. This is one of the places I want to come back definately.

The whole apartment was very clean, a bit old-fashioned. 10 minutes to the Plaza Zavala, which was good for us, it is not overcrowded (in June) with a tree under which you can have a rest when you do not want to sunbathe. There is only one market in the neighbourhood, you have to go to Jelsa for bigger shopping. The host is very friendly.

Several dining options are nearby and bakery, just next door. Owners are very nice and always smiling. We were pleased with the complimentary bottle of local wine and home-grown tomatoes from a well-kept garden under the apartment. Problem-free arrival by car and parking available just next to the building entrance. We enjoyed the whole stay very much.

The surrounding gardens are stunning and the owners work very hard to keep it maintained. We traveled with two young children and the hosts had organised a lovely cot for the baby and even a baby bath which we hadn't requested, so was very much appreciated. The area is pretty quiet and apartment is equipped everything you need. Although we did not meet the host, they were in touch with us whenever we needed them for general informations and also to give us some recommendations to have the best time in Zavala.

From the breakfast to dinner and also the best Jakas family are very nice and friendly people. The pension is only 2 minutes from the beautiful clean Zavala beach. Cannot wait we will come back again next summer :)
