Hotel Medinblu, hotel in Reggio di Calabria

Hotel Medinblu has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Reggio di Calabria. This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service and a tour desk.

Ana Mae and Antonia at the front desk helped me with issues before the trip. The two gentleman who worked the desk while I was there were equally helpful and responsive. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Even the driver that the hotel arranged was exceptional. That alone is a reason to stay here. But in addition, the location is perfect. Close to everything and in the middle of the city. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the terrace where it was served was lovely. The room was very comfortable. We had a superior triple for two people and we had lots of room between our beds plus two chairs and two desk areas. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Great support from the owner who was always very responsive and committed to assist with our concerns and needs. One of the rooms faces the street and the noise was intense at night. So he helped us moving to a quieter room and we had a great stay!

Reggio di Calabria is a beautiful and elegant city, largely dating from after the 1908 earthquake. Many buildings are in the elegant Liberty style. The Lungomare along the Straits of Messina is a great walk with views of Sicily and Etna. It has huge magnolias and pretty buildings. You can watch the sun set over Sicily. Via Garibaldi is a lively pedestrian street with many shops and cafes. The Aragonese Castle is definitely worth a visit. The Archaeology Museum is a must see with Ancient Greek art and the famous Riace Bronzes. It is a quick, 30 minute train ride to fascinating Scilla.

There was a lot of garbage in the streets.

There was a lot of garbage in the streets. Looks like it’s not collected very often which is a pity. Most pavements need to be redone as there are a lot of cracks and potholes. The main shopping area is very clean and well kept though. Trains are very punctual. Only had one delay but it wasn’t their fault as their was a fire somewhere. And only one hour delay so the train after that was on schedule. One other thing, the evening train going to Lamezia terme on a Saturday evening was full of youngsters and the boys were extremely rowdy and noisy to the extent of making me feel uncomfortable even though I wasn’t traveling alone.

The main attraction is the National Archeological Museum containing the Riace bronzes. The museum is excellent with almost everything explained in good English captions. This excellent B&B is run by a friendly and helpful couple. My train was three hours late and I arrived at 11pm but they patiently waited for me until then. They serve a good breakfast too. The room was very spacious and had everything I needed--even a comb and slippers were provided. The price and location are also good--the building is a 600 meter walk away from the Lido train station and also near the archeological museum. An excellent place to stay in Reggio di Calabria.

Excellent location and friendly staff. The hotel is across one street from the archaeological museum and the stunning Riace bronzes, and across another street from the beautiful lungomare. The center of town, which is lively and fun, is a short five-minute or so walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful, providing us with useful information about reaching Sicily (the ferry is only a ten minute walk away). The facilities and rooms are very clean and comfortable.

The apartment was completely new after reconstruction, in hotel-like cleanliness and equipment quality. We had own room with own bathroom, kitchen was common, where nice breakfast was served. The owners, 2 brothers, were extremely caring and helpful, he would go with me to the airport to bring back our rental car and drove me back on his motorcycle! This was way over usual hospitality and we really appreciated.

The keepers of the room were EXTREMELY kind and helpful, the most friendly we've encountered in all of Italy. They were obviously excited to have us staying there. :) They let us put our bikes in the stairway early, hours before check in, which helped us out immensely. They also let us hang out in the common area even after checkout because it was a rainy day. They were super communicative over Wattsapp too!

The apartment was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Great location and good breakfast in a nearby cafe. the owner was very friendly and sent us recommendations for restaurants and places to see in Reggio di Calabria. There are a lot of parking places on the street (1 euro per hour), but the owner also gave us information where you can find free places.

It was a two-story house so very spacious and this hotel is just opened so everything was new and very clean. I was the only guest, so it was great to be able to relax alone in luxury. They provided services such as breakfast and snacks. The cost performance is good, and the location is close to the supermarket and the beach. I highly recommend. I want to stay again!

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. When we had trouble finding the accommodation the hostess came out onto the street to guide us. She helped us find parking and get back to the accommodation. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. Everyone at the accommodation was so helpful. They even helped us get some internet shopping delivered to the hotel.

Antonio is a great host who cares for his tennants. He made sure that we were comfortable in the appartment. It has been renovated with high end materials. After multiple rental appartments through Italy during our trip, this one was by far the best equiped. Nothing was missing. There is also a free parking not to far. We really enjoyed the view and the location.

The staff complimentary upgraded us to a better room, and the experience was wonderful. A modern hotel which we appreciated during our travels, and it felt very luxurious. Compared to the prices we paid in other locations, this hotel was so affordable and made for a great stay. Also location so close to the port for ferries, which was very convenient.

Staff was grrat!!! The property is close to airport (walkable) When we asked how long a walk and instead of just saying the directions they walked us to it so we wouldn't get lost trying to make an early morning flight Property is basic, but we'll maintained. If you need a place to stay to make a flight, this is it.
