Le calme , la propreté et la gentillesse du personnel
Surrounded by the Chaîne des Puys volcanoes and Massif Central forests, Clermont-Ferrand is one of the oldest towns in France. It's home to a rich Gaul legacy, and was the starting point of the 1st Crusade to Jerusalem in 1095. Its name is a result of the fusion between the bishop-ruled town of Clermont and its neighbor Montferrand, created by the Auvergne counts to counterbalance the clergy.
The Chaîne des Puys is approximately 6 miles from the city and is composed of several volcanic cones and domes, with the Puy de Dôme as its highest point. Guesthouses, B&Bs and rural accommodations in Clermont-Ferrand’s outskirts allow you to enjoy these natural surroundings.
Its charming historic center includes the Gothic masterpiece of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption. The popular Place de Jaude has the statue of the Gaul hero Vercingetorix, sculpted by Frédéric Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty.
The city is also famous for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Full of trendy shops, busy terraces, and great restaurants, the city has a laid-back rhythm. Take advantage of the Clermont-Ferrand hotel deals available on Booking.com and enjoy this charming Auvergne city.
The centre of Clermont-Ferrand is nice if you ask me.
The centre of Clermont-Ferrand is nice if you ask me. The cathedral and a lot of Old-World style buildings take my breath and mind away.
Besides that, there are a lot of quality restaurants to be found (for example Pitaya, quality Thai food for a very good price. Or a Lebanon restaurant right in front of the cathedral, quality food and excellent service). On-Air fitness is to be recommended as well, if you're a fitboy/fitgirl! Friendly people all around occupying an excellent gym.
The roads in the area are beautiful for motorcyclists (or cars and campers and such, but please drive as fast as possible haha).
I have to say that I only like the centre of CF. The suburbs etc. are ''nothing'' to look at and visit in my experience.
But if you make it to the centre, and stick to the country- and mountainroads, oh boy/girl! You're in for a good experience.

A basic no frills hotel close to the motorway, but not particularly noisy. Ideal for a one or two night stay. Couldn't hear the airport. Our paperwork said we were in the ground floor but we were on the 1st, there was a lift. Situated in a hotel region of a business park. Several restaurants around but we drove into the city to eat and explore (25mins in rush hour) and parked in underground carpark near Cathedral.

Good restaurants a few steps away from Tours Gregoire. In Avenue and L'Stantan we had delicious meals. Easy walk to Place de La Victoire and the Cathedral. Lecoq gardens had lovely spring flowers and lots of students enjoying the sun as it is near the university.

Clermont-Ferrand is the place if you love nature.
Clermont-Ferrand is the place if you love nature. It is a small city you can navigate on foot or a single bus (B)! The Navettes take you to the best places outside the city: Parc Montjuzet, Volcania and Panoramiques du Dome. The best thing is that the Navette costs you just €1.60!!! If you love hiking, here is your paradise. The chain of Puys is a feast, not to forget the visit to Puy De Dome is a must. The Cathedral of Clermont is another marvel built of Black stones (volcanic stones). Perhaps the only Cathedral in Black in the world standing out like a Majestic Black Stallion in the centre of the city. It has nice bars and restos right around Jaude and enough to stroll around. Stay around Jaude and you can do almost everything easily. Clermont is also the cradle of Michelin (and it goes without saying!)

In the heart of the Auvergne region, Clermont Ferrand is a jewel of architecture and culture. You will quickly find out that it also is the historical headquarter of MICHELIN, World #1 tyre manufacturer. A French industry leader founded here in 1889.
Do not forget to go out of the city and visit the region which is full of natural beauties: mountains, volcanos, thermal sources, caves and more.

This was our first stay at a hotel in the "B&B" chain - and we would certainly stay with this group again based on our experience in Clermont Ferrand. The room was a decent size for a "budget" chain, immaculately clean and well decorated. We decided to eat in the attached restaurant in the evening and had a very reasonable meal at a good price. We took the breakfast option (also in the restaurant) next morning - a very extensive buffet with lots of fresh produce and good coffee (even out of a machine!).
A really kind host who was able to make himself available and answer all our questions. The accommodation is very well located, access is simple, and parking places are available. The apartment is beautiful, well laid out, very well equipped and comfortable. It was the first time for my family and I in Clermont Ferrand and we will keep good memories of it in large part thanks to this apartment!
Staff was very kind and helpful despite our lack of knowledge with the French language. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked great, the bed was comfortable and we had a great view of the city. All in all I wish we were able to stay here longer than just one night! Definitely recommend eating in the hotel restaurant is was delicious.
Reception staff were very welcoming and the reception area and lounge area tastefully decorated .The room was cosy , clean and a nice place to be.
The food was very good in the bar area and the service excellent. Breakfast was excellent as well. The location of the hotel in the centre of Clemont was excellent and the city centre was buzzing.
We stayed in August for two nights on our way through France to Spain, we really liked the hotel, the very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, underground parking for 5 Euros, excellent breakfast, etc. On our return to the UK we chose this same hotel to rest for one night. Everything was perfect.
The hotel is modern, well equipped, friendly staff, just outside the historical center. The breakfast was not only very, very good, but had 180 degree view of the historical center, with the black volcanic rock pointing to the sky in front of you, connecting heaven and earth. Totally amazing.
I chose this hotel because it was very near the station and being an Ibis I could be sure of a reliable and reasonably-priced hotel. It felt safe for a woman travelling alone. The breakfast room was quite basic but the food was good and regularly restocked. My room was quiet.
A cozy and well-furnished apartment - ideally located in the center which allows to discover the city on foot.
the hosts are very pleasant and readily available to answer our questions. I strongly recommend this place to stay if you visit Clermont and its surroundings
Nice reception and area to welcome guests, you could hang out here if you didnt want to walk the 3 minutes into the center. You can get a coffee or a beer when you return back to the hotel.
The water in the room is drinkable, but no refrigerator in the superior room.
The location was only a few feet from Centre Jaude Parking B. It's within walking distance of most of the sites in Clermont-Ferrand city centre. If you only require a place to sleep, it's cheap (in both senses of the word) and well located.
it is a pet friendly hotel with very good breakfast. also the bathroom was big enough to have bath tub instead of box shower, which is a plus for me! very close to the railway station without getting all the trains noise
Room was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was a plus. Clean hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was good for the price with hot options which also was a plus.
Typical good quality hotel for a business trip. I travel a lot, world wide and in such an occasion I would call it perfect. But not a truly 5 star hotel if you are on a holiday trip with your family.
