The Double Tree is very nice.
The Double Tree is very nice. But Toronto ( the one I knew ) doesn't exist anymore. Traffic is a complete nightmare from "Dawn to Dusk" Once you get to one of the 400 series Highways that ring Toronto - better plan on 2 hours to get downtown. We left about 10:30 a.m. It took us 3 hours to drive to Oakville...used to be able to do that in about 45 minutes ...even with a bit of traffic. Unless you have a very specific reason to be in downtown Toronto, Don't go! It is a concrete canyon. With not much to "see" anymore, unless you are looking out your window to look into others' windows in all the condos that surround the building. ... Ask for a high floor on the north-east side. Lovely view of a couple of roof top gardens - including the one at Sick kids. And be prepared to get fleeced on pretty much everything - although you can still get decent meals at almost reasonable prices over on Spadina in China town.Guest review byDrewCanada - Review score

Mississauga is in a great location for a quick shuttle service to YYZ. Because there was construction immediately outside on the highway that the hotel faces onto makes it a bit difficult to find out how to find the entrance, but that will be resolved once the road maintenance is completed.Guest review byNoack - Review score

Its a busy city; mainly skyscrappers.
Its a busy city; mainly skyscrappers. A few historical places remain, the old post office, the cathedral and the distillery district. Distillery district is a good place to eat. Water front and harbour was disappointing. A trip to Niagara Falls is essential. I recommend taking the tour from the city and the boat trip at the falls. Traffic on express ways is horrendous. A 25 minute journey to the airport took 2 hours. The express ways are over loaded any time of day. City trams, buses and airport express are good.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - Review score

Port Credit--the lakefront community of Mississauga--is an excellent vacation spot in the summer as well as a convenient location 20mins out of the city of Toronto by the excellent GO commuter train service. Bring you ice skates in the winter to skate on the artificial ice-path by the Credit River in Port Credit. Lots of places to eat--great variety--but overnight accommodation could use upgrading.Guest review byDavidCanada - Review score

This hotel's staff were audaciously asking for 20% tips at breakfast. When we carried no cash, we were even ask to charge it to our room service bills. We are a senior couple travelling from U.S. and this was our first and last time to Hilton Garden Inn at Markham (Highway 7 and Highway 404). Very bad experience.Guest review byZHENGCanada - Review score
CN tower is overrated.
CN tower is overrated. Spent a lot of money for a meal at the 360 restaurant and it did not meet expectations at all. Seated away from the windows and food was average at best. Rest of Toronto was lovely- islands well worth a visitGuest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - Review score

I did not see much of Mississauga on this trip, but I have known the city from previous trips. What I liked most were the parks at Lake Ontario where people can relax, picnic, and swim, and little kids can enjoy playing. The city is more or less like any big city in Canada with a nice landscape around it and lots of shopping malls. Hotels and taxis are rather expensive, probably trying to copy Toronto, however with a lot less attractions that would make it worth visiting the city. If you just want to overnight after a long flight, and you have your own car (or rental), it is better to look for a decently priced hotel just north of Toronto (e.g. Markham). I am sure, Mississauga is a lot more attractive for business travelers.Guest review bynorbertCanada
