Llandudno is a seaside town and the largest resort in Wales. It is known for its natural landmarks, beautiful pier and Victorian heritage. To pay homage to its roots, every summer there’s a carnival with street fairs, vintage engines and a parade of people dressed in Victorian-era costumes.
The Llandudno Pier is one of the most popular attractions in town, with plenty of stalls, arcade games and a Ferris wheel dotting the 700-metre boardwalk. You can take in superb sunset views over the sea from here, after a scenic stroll along the connecting Llandudno Promenade. This walkway is lined with pastel-hued Victorian mansions and runs along North Shore Beach, where you’ll find stretches of sand as well as pebble. You can also spend some time amidst nature at the artfully landscaped Happy Valley Botanical Gardens, and go skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing on the artificial ski slopes of Llandudno Snowsports Centre.
The Great Orme is a limestone headland that’s situated north-west of Llandudno. You can hike, take a cable car or ride the Great Orme Tramway to its summit for sweeping views of the Irish Sea and the town of Llandudno. Here, you can play golf, visit the 12th-century St Tudno's Church and explore labyrinthine caves and tunnels at the Great Orme Mines that date back to the Bronze Age.

A humming town centre.
15 May 2025
A humming town centre. On the day of our first visit they had a town fair which stretched right along the main street and side roads. The biggest fair I have seen and it was fun! A good shopping centre with all you need. Handy to beautiful beaches and historic sites.

For such a small town there is a supprising amout to do and see. The ovbious one being the great orm, but there is so much more, such as the pier (granted it is a little delapadated, but most in the UK are, the Mines on the way up the Orm (definitey worth a visit). Then there is the heritage trail, which will give your legs a little bit of a work out, but a great way to see the town.
the shops are great, plenty of them and a wide range.

the shops are great, plenty of them and a wide range. Beach is huge and has loads of benches you can sit and enjoy the view and nice weather. Pier is also very long with loads to do and see. A good base if you want to travel around Wales.
Lovely promenade big enough for a motorway!

Lovely promenade big enough for a motorway!! This weekends Transport festival exceeded our expectations along with that amazing car display on the prom on Sunday. Dylans restaurant was superb as usual. Hotel perfect for the festival as we could walk to it and parking free at that end of the prom.

It was the Victorian weekend with some really good attractions but due to local council orders all the fun fair and street vendors had to close at 6pm and that made Llandudno virtually a ghost town in the evening.
I was able to do lots of walking.
3 May 2025
I was able to do lots of walking. I completed the Alice trail which was fun to do. My favourite spots were the top of the Orme and the bar at the end of the pier. I did drop very lucky with the weather although this wouldn't of prevented me from all the walking that I did.
