Imagine watching the blue waves of the sea with sand between your toes; walking along the palm-lined streets with stretches of rice fields by your side; relaxing in quiet jungle retreats and shopping in energetic local markets. All of these experiences packaged together can be found in a village on the coast of Bali, Canggu.
Canggu is a destination that offers something for all travellers. One of the best things to do here is to sit back, sip a cocktail and relax at one of the many black-sand beaches of the place. Test the waves of the sea by bringing out your surfboards at Berawa Beach. You can learn to or practice yoga here, or unwind with an Indonesian massage. A Canggu visit is incomplete without a trip to the iconic Tanah Lot. Perched on a rock, this temple holds immense cultural importance and is an ideal location for a photoshoot.
Canggu is famous for its delectable local foods as well as its varied global cuisine. Enchant your taste buds with the mixed flavours of Balinese nasi campur (mixed rice) featuring grilled chicken, beef curry along with sambals at Denpasar's Warung Wardani. Spicy fish satay or lilit ikan is charcoal grilled to perfection and is a fine balance of spicy and sweet. Indonesia's all-time favourite, Nasi goreng (fried rice) also needs to be on your list. Topped with a fried egg and served with chicken or beef satay, this dish has the heart of millions of food lovers.

Definitely caters for the young and young at heart.

Definitely caters for the young and young at heart. Not recommended for older persons who would not ride motor bikes. Very few opportunities for shopping, unless you are a man who wants a haircut, or if you want a tattoo. Very few restaurants unless you are close to the beach, but expect to pay for the privilege. A Bintang at The Lawn was double what you pay elsewhere.

A beautiful city with great people and a laid-back vacation vibe. While the traffic can be heavy, it feels like part of the experience. The city is full of healthy food options, excellent gyms, amazing restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife scene.
Good waves at Canggu but very crowded.

Good waves at Canggu but very crowded. Many good restaurants around but traffic is horrible. Canggu does not feel like Bali. It's an economic hub with little regard for volume of traffic or upgrades of any kind. New Restaurants and shops are opening up everywhere, construction is ongoing all the time, noisy and dirty Canggu feels more like Europe or USA, not traditional Bali. Money is the motivation there, not tradition.

Cangguu was crowded but I loved the vibe , beaches and the atmosphere. I love to ride scooters in cangguu and the traffic was not as bad as of what people says. I love the shisha places in cangguu. A bit expensive tho but loved the whole experience.

Canggu has a great mix of fancy and not so fancy shops and restaurants. We used the supermarkets as well. My favourite restaurants were Padi club bar and restaurant, just around the corner from the Villa, and Cafe Zai. Everywhere we went people are kind and friendly. Bali is wonderful!
It's a nice place if you want to be close to the nature.

It's a nice place if you want to be close to the nature. There are very nice cows next to the beach and dogs on the beach, and it's not possible to swim, but serving is good! My stay was short and jet lag didn't let me to relax completely, but I enjoyed the place! Don't miss the monkey forest!
