About Tel Aviv

Including tips for the best time to visit Tel Aviv

Situated along Israel’s Mediterranean coastline, Tel Aviv finds its pulse in beachfront bars and parties. Deviating from its otherwise hedonistic vibe, the city offers an eclectic mix of ancient city walls, Bauhaus buildings, offbeat museums and relaxing promenades.

Set aside some time on your Tel Aviv trip to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of ‘White City’ that houses the world’s largest collection of Bauhaus-style buildings. You can wander around the alleyways lined with antique and jewellery stores in Old Jaffa or visit handicraft stores and quaint bistros in the district of Neve Tzedek.

A stretch of sandy beaches embrace the striking blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. You can soak some sun at the Banana Beach or surf along the tides at the Givat Aliyah Beach. The Hilton Beach opens its shimmering shores to the LGBTQ+ community while the Nordau Beach welcomes men and women of the Orthodox community on separate days, respecting their religious beliefs and privacy.

A visit to Tel Aviv is only complete when you experience its bustling nightlife and cultural scene. From grabbing a drink at a laid-back watering hole to dancing until dawn at an underground club – there’s something exciting for every party goer.

It is one of the best cities I have ever been to in my life.

8 May 2025

It is one of the best cities I have ever been to in my life. It is vibrant , almost never sleeps. The people know how to live life. The food is sensational. It is not a cheap city, so make sure you have some money to spend, I would do it over and over again. I walked around at 2am on my own and was never frightened, I felt so safe.

Friendly people, a good party town, nice weather, and plenty of activities to do.. It was just very expensive and I didn't like that whenever I ate out it was almost demanded that I pay 10% extra in tip! This shld be optional, but I felt like I was forced to.

Can be really nice if visited as a tourist.

Can be really nice if visited as a tourist. For those wanting to deep dive into complexity, do research about the Ajami ghetto of Jaffa used by Israel to concentrate leftover Palestinians from the '48 massacres, look up the list of children's schools used as army bases by pre state Israeli militias, read the plaques on old and interesting buildings, and educate to liberate.

Tel Aviv was an exceptional city.

31 March 2025

Tel Aviv was an exceptional city. The people are welcoming, vibrant and full of life. There's so much to do and the beaches, bars, restaurants and markets are incredible. Getting around is so easy and the sunrise and sunsets are out of this world. This city really does have everything and I can't wait to get back there.

The Crown Plaza Tel Aviv is unbelievably convenient and all the staff, including the front desk the dining room staff and the staff that prepare and clean the rooms. Everybody is polite and helpful. They all aim to please in every way that they possibly can and with a personable manner with a smile. Each and everyone deserve kudos.
