Very accommodating for us to bring our dog but upset as I booked 2 rooms for myself mum and daughter to be next door each other but it was given away and had a couple between our two rooms with adjoining doors which was very disappointing also adjoining door handles had a peep hole in lock which I had to block up as could see in each others room by the lock

Lowestoft is a busy working port.

Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands. We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often. We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast. The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

I love the variety of scenery at Lowestoft-Oulton Broad with the boats, Carlton M arshes, the varied types of beach e.g the sea front, P akefield, Ness Point-all different. Some very interesting musuems e.g the M aritme Museum and the one at Oulton Broad.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

Lovely seaside town with harbour and river interest.

Lovely seaside town with harbour and river interest. They have special hotels for the Kittiwakes out at sea and a colourful pier. Oulton Broad provides some lovely lake views and sunsets with boats and kids play park. It is a great destination for the family and only a short ride away. Lowestoft has long promenade with cycle lane and gardens and nice cafes. The beaches are stunning with golden sands and beach huts. There is a good bus service around the coast to Southwold, a gem, and Great Yarmouth.

    Interesting seaside town.

Interesting seaside town. South Beach was perfect plenty of places to eat. The town centre altho big seemed a bit tired but the beach and front area had a buzz about it. The port side of it made it interesting too

Beautiful Edwardian property with amazing sea views. Only required a single room and I happened to be given one of the newly renovated bedrooms with a new spacious bathroom. Lovely and quiet bedroom that overlooked the beach. Very nice bar area at the hotel and I also enjoyed a very good eggs Benedict for breakfast, lots of food choices on the menu. Wonderful, friendly staff… I’ve stayed here on several occasions when visiting family in the area and the Victoria Hotel is excellent value for money.

The location was amazing, right in front of the seafront. Caroline was so lovely, couldn't do enough for us and even had hot water bottles on offer...which I gladly took! The hotel felt really welcoming and friendly, it was like visiting family! Thanks to Andy who did us a lovely breakfast! We will definitely be coming back again and can't wait for our next visit, it's a lovely location with loads to do. Can't recommend enough! Thanks both!

We took the continental breakfast mostly, and it was generous, and a cooked breakfast once, and it was just as good. The owners were very helpful about facilities, transport and other dining possibilities in the area. Parking was easy, on the road just in front of the hotel. The honesty bar was well stocked and very comfortable. We would definitely go back to this hotel when visiting the east coast.

The guest house was very welcoming and the facilities were excellent. There is step free access to the rooms and the room I had was blessed with a fabulous view of Lowestoft beach and the North Sea. The breakfast was filling and expertly cooked by Andy the chef. The Manager/Owner Ash was very knowledgeable and made many suggestions for things to do and see within the area. It was a great stay.

absolutely amazing, I was a little skeptical to start with as you only receive check in details on the stay of the stay. However this hotel was lovely, very clean great sized rooms. Most hotels at this present moment do not clean rooms or change towel etc during your stay. To our amazement when returning to our room towels were changed and beds made it was wonderful.

Excellent. Second stay here. 2 different rooms now, both Humongous with en suites. Exceeds expectations. Can’t speak high enough of the place. Fantastic hosts. Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had. Stayed in many different hotels and Guest houses over the last 2 months with work. This is by far the best by a country mile.

A very pleasant country hotel with lovely gardens surrounding. The only staff member I saw on arrival was a lady who appeared to be waitress, bar lady and receptionist all in one. Although very busy, she remained very pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was again, very pleasant.

The Salty Dogs Chalet is well situated for days out in the Lowestoft and Yarmouth areas. Chalet is very close….5 min walk down to the beach…..which is mix of heath, sand and shingle. Great for walks and walking distance to nearby pubs, restaurants and local shop.

Close to beach, not part of main hotel so no cooking smells! On busy road but could not hear traffic at all nor get the smells from KFC opposite. Good cafes on street behind (ie better alternative than seafront). Bed comfortable, towels.
