You could stay near the lake and feel alone or visit the hotel area and enjoy all type of activities like tennis, volleyball, basketball, frisbee golf, game room, etc. A perfect combination between being in nature but not being alone, particularly important when not familiar with the place and traveling with young kids. This property is set on a family farm, 12 km outside Savonlinna and 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Pellosjärvi. It offers a private beach, lakeside sauna and homemade Finnish food. One of the nicest places we stayed in Finland, and we wish we could have stayed longer. Frindly and helpful family.  A really cool lakefront sauna was available (for a small reasonable fee), which we sadly didn't use. The property is clean, and beautifully appointed. Very quiet.

Cute b&b, which used to be an old train station. We had room 1, which was very large with A/C. Dog friendly place. Great breakfast . We stayed here during the opera festival and their room rates were excellent compared to hotels. Took a bicycle taxi to the castle and it was about 10 minute ride away.
