We know the island well and are usually staying on board a boat. Due to an injury we needed somewhere in Vila do Porto within easy access to everything and we found it here. A special offer price made it very affordable for 18 nights. We were warmly welcomed by Sylvia and her cat who checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and we also appreciated the welcome basket of fresh fruit and local produce. The apartment (we were at the back of the building) is comfortable and homely, well equipped, clean and regularly serviced and within very short walking distance of supermarkets and all facilities. Bus stops are close by. We would certainly stay here again.

This 4-star hotel is situated close to Vila do Porto, a 10-minute drive from the airport, the mountain and the beach of Praia Formosa. Good atmosphere, good room conditions, good staff

The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. Fabulous home in a wonderful location, easy walking to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and excellent off street parking. Good cross flow ventilation to mitigate the warm humid weather in August. Good cooking facilities, including a charcoal BBQ on a large furnished terrace. Very comfortable bed and living room furniture. Greatly appreciated the washing machine, and outside clothes line. We were pleasantly surprised how spectacularly beautiful Santa Maria Island was, and how warm the water was for swimming.

The views, the house is cute, it had everything we needed. We stayed 4 nights, 2 nights we ate at home on the terrace. The owner had prepared a bottle of wine , a lovely local sweet melon and other things for us on our arrival which was really appreciated and a lovely gesture. It was a perfect stay.
