The room was perfect, clean and was appointed with quality items like towels, bed and even a flashlight if the power goes out (it didn’t!). Self check-in was very easy. The rooms were surprisingly quiet for a historic property.

We had a phenomenal stay at this beautiful historic inn.
We had a phenomenal stay at this beautiful historic inn. The room was lovely and very cozy, resulting in 2 nights of very good sleep. Lisa, The hostess made 2 different creative and filling. Lisa gave up very good touring sites advice. Would stay here again with no hesitation. Recommend this inn very highly to others.

Lunenberg, of course, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there's almost nothing to see here. The downtown is a single street a few blocks long with a couple of mostly-empty side streets. One picture, and you are ready to move on.

Beautiful place. A must see destination.
Beautiful place. A must see destination. We only had one night and should have stayed longer. Lots of places to see. Lots of places to eat but it’s busy with tourists. We went a little off the beaten track away from the sea front and found some less busy eateries.

The most interesting item was the Fisheries Museum.
The most interesting item was the Fisheries Museum. Most of the restaurant served fried foods but we ate at The Lincoln Street Food Store which was very good. We found that the restaurants were expensive for the type of food they offered. To get around in Lunenburg was fairly easy, there are a lot of hills. I think that if we made another trip to Lunenburg we would try to get into the Art Galleries, most were closed when we were there. We would avoid most of the restaurants and try to find one that didn't serve only fried foods.

Loved this town!
Loved this town! Seeing and walking aboard the Bluenose II was great. Took the haunted tour - highly recommend. Great shopping for souvenirs but also for local artist's work. Hope to visit again!

Our visit to Lunenbur greatg was at the end of an 11 day tour of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. We definitely saved the best for last. Would have liked to have had one more day in Lunenburg. All of the restaurants were great. we ate at the Half Shell Oysters, The South Shore Fish Shack and the Smoke Pitt BBQ. Just wanderin up and down the dock side and through town looking at all the different houses was entertaining.
Superb location on the main street in the centre of Lunenburg. Our room was beautifully set out on the top floor. The bed was comfortable the bathroom (with jacuzzi) was excellent.
The location was fantastic.. we were right in the centre of town which made it easy to get to the many restaurants and amenities. Car parking was a little "tight" but free to use. Our hosts were very friendly and provided a very good breakfast in the morning. We appreciated the smoked salmon and scramble eggs. Excellent!
Hurricane Lee passed through the previous day, and the Inn was without power when we checked in. It was estimated that power would be restored by 11pm. Luckily, the power came back on just after sunset, which was better than expected. The innkeeper was very pleasant and had everything ready for our arrival despite the lack of power. Lunenburg is a very nice little town on the water. In hindsight, we wish we had been able to stay a second night to enjoy the inn and the town.
We spent 10 days driving through beautiful Nova Scotia staying at bed and breakfasts. The Alicion tops them all in beauty, location, comfort and quality. Joe and Christopher have created a wonderful bnb in Lunenburg. Joe greeted us warmly and provided information about the bnb and local area. The furnishings are lovely and the beds and linens top quality. The breakfast was the best we had prepared by accomplished cook Joe. We hope our travels take us back to their door.
We had a double room in the Cranberry building - it was two good size bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom. Building was totally renovated inside and even had an elevator. Bedrooms and bathrooms were modern and clean but with tasteful "coastal" character in the décor. Had all the modern amenities you would want. Enjoyed the continental breakfast that was included - great start to the day exploring the Lunenburg region. Staff were friendly, professional and accommodating.
We stayed two nights but could have stayed longer. The unit was very spacious - more like a one-bedroom apartment. The bedroom was at the back so further from the road. The kitchen was very well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. It was nice to look out at the ocean. Owners were responsive and friendly. We were so glad we changed our minds about staying in Lunenburg as this was much quieter. We loved Hirtle's Beach and went there twice.
The gorgeous historic estate is the home belongs to the host. Guests occupied the first and second floor, hosts stay on the third. Rooms are spacious, cozy and clean with a sofa and tv in the room. Like all the other comments said, breakfast here are amazing. Homemade cereal is 12/10 for sure. Will definitely come and stay here if we are in Lunenburg again.
We had a double room with a balcony but because of the weather we couldn't use it. The beds were comfortable and clean. The location in the town was excellent and the hotel had a parking lot close to it which was very convenient. The staff were very obliging and pleasant. I would recommend it to anyone.
The location is great, the room was clean, spacious and had a coffee maker and small fridge.
The check in was a bit unexpected. There is no desk as in the hotel, we were checked in by a waitress in the restaurant on the ground floor. There is no breakfast, as the restaurant opens at 11 am.
Beautiful 143 year old building overlooking Lunenburg Harbor. We stayed in room 4, overlooking the harbor. The room and the bath are large. The floors are original wide plank pine. Air conditioning worked well. A home cooked breakfast was cooked for us each morning.
Very friendly staff and there is parking right across the street, which is a real bonus in Lunenburg, as we had had to drive around for up to an hour trying to find parking when we stayed at other places in Lunenburg. Comfy beds, and very clean also ☺
Amazing staff- great location and comfortable place to stay on Main Street! Michael and Rita made our stay despite fog and rain- next day had wonderful morning with a coffee made by Rita and walk then sitting in Lunenburg wharf! Fabulous experience !
Great location, comfy beds, and a beautiful view. The room had everything I needed. I had dinner at the deli and was also very pleased with the food and the service. Would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Lunenburg.
Did not come with breakfast. Location was excellent. The Grand Banker restaurant at the hotel was great. Staff excellent as was the food. The hotel itself, rooms in particular were "tired". It was, however, quiet.
No breakfast.
Weather was pouring rain and also there was a serious house fire in town so sirens going for hours!
None of that was in any way the hosts fault but that is what we remember about Lunenburg.
The Mariner King Inn was in a perfect location - right by the water. The staff were fabulous and welcoming! The main reception area was lovely with a great breakfast area and sitting room.
