This is a beautiful historic hotel. The bedrooms had character and we had super views from the back of the property. Breakfast provided a wide variety of options. The location was excellent on the edge of the old town and not too far to walk to the train station.

Fantastic village to take Bernina Express.
Fantastic village to take Bernina Express. However, if yo wish to take Bernina, then dont rent a car rather buy Swiss rail passes which seem expensive but then all transport is free and you get 50% off on Bernina express, Glacier express, and all private rides like Titlis Air and others. So this is well worth a spend.

We only stayed 1 night in Chur and were thus unable to fully explore the town itself and the surrounding area. There is a good range of shops, historic buildings and churches (especially the cathedral) which are worth visiting. It's not a large town but there are several attractive squares to wander around and, like most places in Switzerland, extremely clean and tidy. We ate at a very good restaurant/bar called Calanda - great service/atmosphere/food and drink choices.

The cable car was fantastic, would have stayed another day just to take full advantage of this… However it’s very expensive in Chur… eating out was prohibitive for us due to how much it would have cost, we could stay in a good apartment in Bolzano Italy for one night for the same cost as a meal for two.. even buying food from the supermarket is expensive… btw Bolzano is a fantastic place to visit ..

We loved Chur. Beautiful , historic old town in the centre.
We loved Chur. Beautiful , historic old town in the centre. It seemed like a town where regular working folk lived rather than being very touristy although there were tourists. Interesting Viamal Gorge and walk accessibly easily by train and bus . As it was raining we didn’t go on the walk just the short walkway by the cafe .

Pleasantly surprised with our stay which was scheduled around taking the Bernina Express. Had we researched Chur, would have planned a longer stay. Chur is worth considering if you enjoy long nature walks. mountain biking or just being outside in the fresh mountain air.
This is a very nice modern hotel with a great view. The location is a bit away from old Town but with the bus stop right in front of the hotel (and the visitor card provided by the hotel that gives you free public transport), it was a breeze to get around.
There is also a grocery store, a cinema, shopping and restaurants in the same building (or attached buildings).
The staff was wonderful - friendly and very helpful.
This was our last accommodation in Switzerland and it felt like a treat and a sweet way to end our trip.
Hotel Freieck is extremely well located within Chur. Our bedroom overlooked a gorgeous vista across town and the hills beyond. The square and streets right outside have many bars and restaurant options, and Chur is a great choice for an overnight stop if you're travelling through Northern Switzerland or the Rhine Valley. It's a surprisingly lively town.
The breakfast was especially fabulous (mimosas!). The bathroom also had some cool ambient lighting that set it apart from other places we stayed during our trip.
The hotel was magnanimous to provide us with free public transport vouchers for use in Chur. Breakfast was available from 6 am. Though not listed in booking.com, provided us an electric kettle on request. Had a McDonald in the same building and a KFC next door. Even though there were no cups in the room, they arranged paper cups for us. The terrace with our room gave some pleasing views of the snow capped mountains. Overall a very comfortable stay.
The location of this stay was absolutely wonderful! Easy to access apartment located amongst the beautiful walking streets of Chur. Having four separate beds across two bedrooms and a sofa bed meant that my parents and my sister could get a reasonable degree of privacy during our stay. It was also surprisingly quiet after a certain period at night. Universal charging strip in the living room!
The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk from the railway station, in the old part of the town. It is in a very old building, with many original features, especially in the dining/breakfast room. It is, however, a fairly basic hotel in terms of the room but very much typical of hotels in this price range all across Switzerland. This hotel is fine for a 1 night stay
What a gem of a hotel in Chur! The staff were exceptional, the room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, the onsite restaurant was incredible, and the location was very convenient near the train station and downtown Old Chur.
The staff had very good English, and even helped me schedule an appointment for my required COVID test the next day in Zurich. Over the top!
Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was a good spread. Had dinner in the restaurant twice and the meals were good. The hotel is situated on the edge of the old town so very convenient to explore. Chur itself is a good base for exploring the very scenic areas leading to the likes of Tirano, Arosa, St.Moritz etc using the local rail network.
Everything from the location to the very lovely staff, to the comfy beds with privacy curtains… awesome one night experience. We took the Bernina Express from Italy and booked Bogentrakt bc it was an old prison! Thought it would be a cool experience and they delivered. Chur is beautiful- I would have done an extra night if possible.
Flat is located on the heart of old city. Just 3 minutes walking distance away from train station. We stayed 1 night at Chur since we were going to take the Bernina Express the morning after. Location made everything easy for us. Flat was clean and well designed. Bed was comfortable. Heating was good.
Best location in the heart of the city. Although a small hotel, the breakfast buffet was really good. The staff helped us with Chur card, a card that gets you to museums, buses etc for free - a real bonus when visiting Chur. Also, we got a free upgrade to a better room.
Great hotel. Switzerland so ridiculously expansive. Found this hotel for a reasonable price wasn’t expecting much due to the low price to be honest but it was great friendly staff, clean big rooms with very comfortable beds, Really good location Breakfast was great.
The hostel was great, new and very clean. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable about the area and had great recommendations for what to do in and around Chur. A very comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Switzerland.
Good hotel. Friendly staff, clean room. Central located in Chur, 10 minute walk from the railway station and situated at the start of the old city (Altstadt). Wifi was good, beds were perfect.
The breakfast was plenty and very good. The location was where we wanted to be, near the old town so we could walk from the hotel without taking our car out of the parking garage.
Breakfast was personalised and lots of variety.
Hotel brilliantly situated for old quarter exploring.
Chur an exceptionally interesting town to explore and very picturesque
Hotel was an easy 10 min walk from the train station. The room had enough space for four people. I personally loved that the pillows were more firm than other hotels.
Relatively affordable ( by Switzerland standards) near train station, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. Renovated older building with kitchenettes.
