The room was super clean and tidy, and as a bonus we were also invited to get some snacks and drinks in the fridge in our room, which was a lovely touch. We didn't stay too long since we had to leave early in the morning, but the location and the house were really nice! The bathroom was also very clean and spacious and the tub relaxing after a day of walking. We usually avoid places where we share space with the owners due to wanting our privacy, but apart from us being in a different part of the property, the hosts seemed to respect their guests privacy and it wasn't a problem for us at all!
Also, for people travelling, the place is super close to the airport.

Went to Holzwickede on Schutzenfest weekend and had an amazing time, the whole town is involved but make sure you're there on Schutzenfest Monday as it's the best day and the last, also went to Schone flote, the outdoor swimming pool which is fab , downtown Dortmund is only a train ride away and the station is 5 mins walk from hotel Lohenstein, all in all, a great wkend

It is only 200 metres from the train station and has a variety of restaurants, pubs and takeaways within 100 metres of it. Just around the corner is a bakery that provides breakfast rolls and coffee to either sit in or takeaway. There is free car parking at the rear of the hotel but I would suggest requesting a space as there are only 3 spaces. The hotel was very quiet and was perfect for our needs.TomUnited Kingdom

There is a Netto supermarket three minutes walking distance open 07-00 to 22-00 and a couple of restaurants a few minutes walk. The place is surprisingly quiet at night, the room is big enough, the bathroom is also large. The bed and pillows are comfy, the room is warm. A small sort of hall for the guests is quite cosy to relax with a beer or two watching TV.
