Hotel Huasicama is such a beautiful place. Very clean, nice host, and great breakfast. He let us keep our luggage there while we hiked the Quilotoa Loop.

The people were wonderful and it's a lovely place. We got a lot of useful information on hikes as well as the living of people there. They prepared a very tasty dinner for us and the breakfast is very rich and tasty. We would highly recommend this place.

The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.
Lovely quiet location in the centre of town.
The family that run the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
The breakfasts are really nice.
The hotel was quiet and warm.
Hot powerful showers.
Lovely relaxed feel about the place.
Tip - If you are planning to walk the Quilotoa Loop, you can store your excess baggage securely free of charge + the best hostel in Chugchilan (Cloud Forest Hostel) on route is owned by the same family, so might be worth asking about booking here.
We stayed the night before and after the Quilotoa Loop.
Staff is really friendly, the location is great about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus terminal, right on a nice park and square with many shops and restaurants nearby. Hot water, internet, TV, there was a small table and chair where I could work. Overall a great value. Definitely recommend getting a room with a garden view which looks over the park/square. We stayed the night before and after hiking the Quilotoa loop and would stay there again if we return to Latacunga.
I rang the bell with no reservation and asked to leave my bag there for a couple days while I did the quilotoa loop. They were super friendly and accommodating and let me leave it. Staff was also helpful letting me know about bus times/etc.
Breakfast was excellent, room was clean, and water was hot. The hotel is in a huge, old building with large windows, pretty architecture and grand staircases. The location is good in central latacunga. I would stay here again.
Located in the very center, perfect location, with a free private car park. very convenient place in general. big room with comfy beds. we just had a problem with one of the lights in the room that could not be switched off despite our attempts. we stayed one night and needed to leave early the morning after so we could not try breakfast but if you need to spend one night in Latacunga, this is a very good option, especially for the location
The room was small and so was the bed (seemed smaller than a full size) but for $16 for a room with private bathroom, we didn’t really expect much. Shower had hot water and the hostel is between the bus terminal and the city main square so perfect for one night to sleep and leave your bags (for free) before doing the Quilotoa trek.
Victor, the owner, used to be a guide and gave us a bunch of info about the trek.
We had a great stay! The hotel looks like a mountain cabin but still modern on the inside, with all the comfort needed! We had a whole floor to ourselves, it was great! And the host was super nice and so sweet! He made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful to answer our questions. He even gave us a departure gift (have not received one since I started traveling this time)!
We stayed for one night and it was a good location. Very convenient to go around the place such as walking to the city center as to catch a taxi in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and provides answers to questions on how to best move around with buses. We opted in for the breakfast which was a great choice, definitely recommended!
Close to the plaza, great breakfast, staff extremely helpful. We wanted a taxi but the street was closed due to the Momma Negra festivities so the front called us one and then walked us down the road to where the taxi was waiting. The hotel also will store luggage which helped us out on our side trip to Quilatoa Crater.
lovely light and airy colonial environment. very helpful owner who speaks English. on his recommendation and arrangements we returned to Quito after trip to Cotopaxi, instead of another night in Latacunga. free luggage storage while doing Quilatoa loop hike.
The highlight of Hotel Central was the staff! They were so welcoming, kind, and attentive. Everyone helped with anything we needed and they made us a great breakfast both mornings we were there. We really enjoyed our stay here.
the Hotel was pretty confortable. excellent atention and very kind people. i came here thanks to Jaguar Expeditions which is an excellent tour and transport agency
nice recommendation i will come back for sure
It’s a but old hostel but very nice one. The staff was super nice and the breakfast for the value was amazing. We did Quilotoa Loop and we met more people in this hostel for this hike.
This is a beautiful hotel. The street outside is very busy but you would never know it as the hotel is so tranquil. William was amazing. Anything we needed he helped us.
