Right in the centre of the lovely town of Vendome with restaurants, shops and cafes a stone's throw away. The rooms are large, well furnished and clean. The beds are comfy with crisp linens. The breakfast is superb in a gorgeous bijou dining room and there's a Nespresso machine in our room for an early heart-starter. We had a local sparkling wine in the bar before dinner at the fabulous Morris just a two minute walk away (book in advance!) Louis Vuitton is one of the major employers in town and I suspect a lot of visiting staff stay at this hotel.

Central location in the city
Nice staff. The first room which was given to us was not adequate (stiff stairs to access the bathroom), the staff kindly gave us new rooms.
Nice breakfast with some choice.

Did not get to stay at the Hotel Vendome. The hotel was locked, no contact possible because we had no internet until we arrived at the hotel and they were not open. Did not have an access code because we needed internet contact and the hotel was not open. As a traveler, we only have internet when at the hotel location. Of course we were billed but the hotel access was not possible. Not happy with either Hotel Vendome or booking, com. They do not have a procedure to deal with a situation where the hotel is not available.

Vendôme is a charming small town made of 7 islands on the Loir River (not the Loire with an E valley!!). Medieval castle, gothic church, other churches, lots of lovely parcs. Perfect pause for families before visiting Blois and the magnificent big castles.

Beautiful city - so much to see in a small but perfect city.
Beautiful city - so much to see in a small but perfect city. Restaurants were bountiful and our meal at the Moulin was excellent. We managed a drink in the square and the bar staff were very keen for us to try their wonderful beers (Cherry beer quite delicious!)
All in all a perfect French experience.

Built on an island in the Loir river, there are few areas of the town that aren't near some part of the river. Although apparently devastated by bombing in 1940, remnants of the old timber building remain and the reconstructed elements are in character and sympathetic to the feel of the town, Castle on hill above town is in ruins, but worth a visit if your legs are up to the climb! Town centre has good shopping but for food you need one of the supermarkets just out of the town, except on Friday when there is a market with variety of butchers, fishmongers, fruit, veg & general groceries.
The facade of the Trinity Abbey is a stunning example of Gothic architecture.

An interesting, quiet, historical town, with easy access.
An interesting, quiet, historical town, with easy access. We greatly appreciated the information given us by the 2 young ladies in the town's Office de Tourisme, including the blue parking disc, which we found most helpful.
We found a lovely restaurant, Le Moulin du Loir, with a fantastic ambience and very attentive, welcoming staff, which was very popular. We would recommend making a reservation. The beautiful park surrounding the ruined castle above the town is well worth a visit, as is the Abbey and Museum. Plenty of parking.
We loved this place, the house, and owner and host Jean Claude and his wife Sylvie especially. Nothing at all to complain about, and on our first day, Jean Claude made us omelettes for breakfast, fresh eggs from his own chickens, and herbs from his garden. The nearby town of Vendôme is well worth a visit, especially the ruined château, and Bracueil is a good centre for exploring the river Loir, to our minds much more attractive than the larger and better known Loire of which the Loir is a tributary.
The amazing house- it’s history- it’s ambience. Everything. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the house. Incredibly spacious. Comfortable. Great easy to work pellet burner for heating( getting colder in October). Safe secure parking right up to our door. Very friendly and informative owners. Too late to use the pool - next time.
Also Vendôme is right on your doorstep. But accommodation is so tranquil and calm. What a beautiful town!
The owner is very kind, helpful, sociable. He answers fast to your messages. There is a place for car parking included in the booking. Very close to the city center, 5 min by walking. The apartment is very nice decorated, comfortable and has good equipment. It has good heating during the winter. There is an elevator in the building. I strongly recommend this accommodation.
The hosts accepted an early check in for us and we were greeted by their daughter who was very helpful and pleasant.
Good gated parking available.
Our room was light and airy with very big windows and good views over the garden. Spacious and clean room.
The property is very central to the town where there are plenty of eating places and a nice shopping area.
Out of the way and nothing like the photos
There were no fresh water taps
No way of heating or boiling water for drinks in bedroom
Dark and dismal in hotel
Shower and toilet separated from bedroom by flimsy folding panel
Poky little shower and toilet
Shower connected to bathroom sink then trailed over floor
Insufficient space to hang clothes
beautiful house ideally situated near the core of Vendôme. hosts were very welcoming, the breakfast was lovely. the bedroom overlooking the garden was spacious, and beautifully decorated and furnished. I was able to park my motorbike in the secure driveway.
We have been upgraded to the Hotel Vendome due to Covid constrains. It was really nice with very good service, in the center of old town with very quiet rooms. Great breakfast value too.
