It was like a home away from home. The owners and staff were all lovely and couldn’t do enough to help us. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was simply delicious. We will definitely be back for MOK 2025. Great location and parking

Quite certainly the best B&B we've ever stayed in! Everything was PERFECT : John and David were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The house is beautiful and so clean, the decoration and equipment are wonderful and the full Scottish breakfast was excellent! Wish we could have stayed longer!! Even a lovely cake on arrival - they really look after their guests!

The apartment has everything we needed for a four-day stay. It is very comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The property is located in a nice street, handy for local shops and restaurants.
The hosts are very helpful and responded quickly to a question I had.
We found the Kintyre Larder almost at the end of the street and it has a good stock of locally-supplied foods and drinks. We made several stops there. The restaurant Number Forty Two is very close by and the food and service were excellent. We had a great choice of fresh seafood and would recommend the restaurant. The Cadenhead's Whisky Shop has a "Tasting Room" cafe nearby - ask in the shop for directions because it's tucked away, a little out of sight. There's a small selection of very fresh food in the Tasting Room and its also a great place for a late morning coffee or an afternoon stop.
The distillery tours were well worth the trip - they were the main purpose of our visit. However, Campbeltown is also a good destination for boat trips, bike hire and coastal walks.
Before we even left, we were planning to go back.

The accommodation was clean, tidy, spacious. It was as described and actually even better. It ticked all the boxes for us we all had a clean and comfortable bed. The host answered all our daft questiuions and was very acommodating.

It was just right, not too busy and not too quiet, unfortunately the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan had been withdrawn so we had to endure the long journey back which was not in our weekend plan. So if you are coming make sure the ferry is operating.

The town is on the downside of things but back on the way up. The two distilleries in town were excellent: Springbank and Glen Scotia and we toured both. Actually there is a small third one, Glengyle as well. There used to be over 100 distilleries before WW1. This is an area known also for its outstanding salmon and cheese. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists as well. I would recommend it and hope to be back again. Getting around in town was done with taxis.

Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!!
Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!! We loved the people there! People would go out of their way to help us with directions or any questions we had. The Harbour is so beautiful, breathtaking!! The town still has an old feel to it with a lot of the original buildings around 1700 to 1800’s still standing and in use!! Gorgeous architecture!! Be sure to tour around town on a rented e-bike or car. Well worth it!!! We had a wonderful stay in Campbeltown!!

I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc.
I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc. and I would encourage more people to visit. It may seem inaccessible as it's so far from everywhere else, so going out of your way to get there is well worth it.

I haven't been to Campeltown for 20 years or so and we visited on our mini tour of southern Scotland. A great base to venture out to Callander, Saddell and Machrihanish.
We ate at No.42. The food is delicious, the staff engaging and welcoming but it's a bit pricey.

Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route.
Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route. It has an interesting working harbour and 2 distilleries to visit. One, Springbank, is right in the middle of the town. Nearby are a couple of golf courses, links I believe. A drive will take you to the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse but once you park there’s a steep hike and the road is challenging and not for long vehicles.
The house is in a great location in Campbeltown, just a short walk to the town centre. When we arrived the house was lovely and warm, tea cakes in the fridge and a few essential items to boot. It's a beautiful house, comfortable and cosy with one of the best showers I've been in for a long time. Better then many hotels. We all slept like logs and enjoyed our stay very much, and we will be back next time we're back in Scotland.
Brilliant location for exploring the South of the Kintyre peninsula, only a short drive from Campbeltown, (or walk/bus if you prefer).
Apartment has everything you need to feel at home, we settled to the place the minute we walked in the door.
Although situated near a road, we had no problem at all with traffic noise, and enjoyed a peaceful sleep every night.
Lovely unobstructed views over fields to the hills.
Perfect stay for our first night of travel. Staff were so nice and helpful. We had our Day 2 required test kits delivered to the hotel and they made sure we had them at check in. They also let us know the best place for them to mail back. Hotel was nice, breakfast was terrific!
I can't say enough positive things! Tracy and Bruce were beyond lovely and couldn't do enough for their guests. Location was good and very reasonably priced, room was clean with all facilities needed. I will certainly return to Campbeltown and would definitely stay here again.
Our host was very welcoming, helpful, and kind. Breakfast was good. Our room was spacious, with ensuite bathroom which is not always the case in historical homes. The location is very central to Campbeltown and easy to walk within the town. Free street parking was easy.
The quaint hotel is quite centrally placed in Campbeltown and easily reached by bus or car. Staff was friendly, check-in was fast. Covid protection was mostly observed. Room had a kettle and tea. We used it as a base for hiking the southern part of the Kintyre Way.
Room was comfortable with a lovely view of the garden. Guest lounge and bar were fabulous and very welcoming. Breakfast was a great full Scottish. Hotel was within walking distance of the town. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
Kirsteen was welcoming and an incredible host. Great care was shown to present the room in an inviting way. Although the rooms were warm, due to unseasonably warm Scotland weather, they were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
Ardshiel is in a quiet location within walking distance of the local amenities. Great choice of food for breakfast and evening meals. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has an excellent choice of whisky.
A total surprise compared to the other hotels/ B&B I have used in this area. Tastefully refurbished school building and excellent B&B. Owner could not have been more welcoming. Breakfast was top notch too.
Central location in heart of Campbeltown . Friendly knowledgeable owners who will go out their way to make your stay a great experience. Lovely breakfast in a homely breakfast lounge.
